Just looking at our squad on the official site and was wondering what the panic was about RE home grown players by some on here lately?
I didn't think too much of it at the time, but as the squads have to be submitted to the FA today I just thought I'd take a look where we stand.
From what I can see, out of the 35 listed on the OS (which still includes Dobbie for some reason) I can only pick out 9 non home grown players if you include Hernandez who isn't listed.
Not sure about Augustien but I'm pretty sure he doesn't qualify till the end of this season which will be his 3rd.
This means that whatever 25 man squad is submitted out of those 35, there will be at least 14 home grown so well in excess of the 8 required... or have I got this all wrong?

I posted a thread on this subject but was not "panicking", and neither was anyone else.

It was put up merely as an observation because we we were in the process of signing a fair amount of overseas players. The conclusion was the same as yours - that as expected, we're fine. You have to assume that our management know the rules, after all.

I read somewhere the other day that Hernandez hasn't got international clearance yet, so that's maybe why he's missing from the list. It may be through by now though, but a bit worrying if it's not.

Does anyone know if he has it yet?

UPDATE: Here's what guardian said on 1 Sep...

Swansea have completed the signing of Valencia winger Pablo Hernández for a club record fee of £5.55m.

The Spain international, who has four caps to his name, has signed a three-year contract at the Liberty Stadium subject to international clearance and comes in as a direct replacement for Scott Sinclair, who sealed his switch to Manchester City earlier this afternoon.
