I should know the answer to this but I don't or I've forgotten it. Do we have a policy of not playing home summer friendlies? If so, why? Last one I remember was against New Zealand when Bolanos played but failed to get a work permit. And maybe another the following year against Costa's outfit.
We can't play one this year because the police are busy with the Olympics. As others have said though, in recent years we've played Den Bosch, Athletic Bilbao, Ipswich (hardly a glamour game as we'd played them the previous season) and we had a game against Tottenham scheduled a couple of seasons ago but couldn't afford the policing costs.
I think Jorge Costa's outfit was FC Braga. We used to have testimonials back in the days when we had long-serving players.
