Ten games left at home with a possible 30 points at stake. If we win 8, draw 1 or 2 we will gain 25 or 26 points. 75 points plus what we get from our travels. Will it be enough? I think it will, so let's give an extra 10% if we can to roar us on to success.
Don't think we can assume we will maintain our stunning home record but that said I'm sure we will pick up some more away and with the players we have to come back from injury and suspension and a potential couple of signings we can and should make the points we need.
COYR! Starting with a win next Monday please! Hopefully its the below average Leicester that turn up, not the decent one. I can't see them playing like Bristol City did and shutting us down, so hopefully we will exploit the space and take advantage.
The other teams (WH, Boro, Cardiff) have some relatively easy fixtures coming up, so it's important that we get the wins at home - think how HUGE a win would be against Cardiff in a few weeks time. I still think we're gonna finish in the playoffs. But it's more than possible we can actually do this. COYR
The next two home games are huge in my opinion. Huge because they're both big sides, who are capable of beating us (yes, Leicester are having a bad season, but they have the players). Huge because winning them both would put us right back on track, by re-opening that gap again and putting December completely behind us. Huge because our remaining home fixtures after them look kind to say the least: Leicester Cardiff Burnley Derby Ipswich Barnsley Doncaster Pompey Reading Coventry In a race to the finish line, I'd take them as our final 8 home games any season.
Too right, and Coventry at home last game of the season - I would expect Coventry to be relegated by then. If we needed to win the last game of the season to go up, Coventry at home is ideal
And this is based on our form against Bristol City and Doncaster? I'm hoping it will be sorted before that match and we have another 'Walsall moment'.
Agreed! Hopefully (a) we'll be already promoted, and (b) Coventry will either be safe or already relegated, so the game can be one big party!
Unfortunately I think the Coventry game will be more like the Sheff Utd game than the Walsall one...radios to ears and calculators out.
As I recall, Sheff Utd had an outside chance of a play-off place going into that game. So I wonder if Coventry will have an outside chance of survival.
Home form key, but i'm bricking it over the away game at boro on the penultimate weekend of the season.
Think we should take it one game at a time. We are 4 points (effectively 5 with GD) ahead of Cardiff, and a win over them would put a massive dent in their auto chances. After that all we have to do is basically mirror their form until the end of the season but obviously aim to better it. As for the rest in the top 6, I don't think they have enough to reach the autos. Although I think B'ham will have a good go.
