Three weeks ago we were as good as down - a view shared by me and most of us on here.

Our run-in was horrendous and most of us couldn't see where the next point was coming from.

Now there's renewed hope and, most importantly, our run-in doesn't seem so bad when stacked up against our relegation rivals.

In fact, they're not too dissimilar, with everyone (discounting Wolves) having two home games they absolutely must, and can, win.

Anything off Spurs is a bonus for us and Bolton, likewise with Wigan and United.

    Bolton
    Swansea, West Brom, Spurs
    QPR
    Swansea, Stoke, Spurs
    Blackburn
    Norwich, Wigan
    Wigan
    Newcastle, Wolves, United

Assuming everyone wins these two home games and we get a point against West Brom and Spurs, I make the final standings:

    Bolton - 37
    QPR - 36
    Blackburn - 35
    Wigan - 35
    Wolves - 26

It all starts tonight though - a QPR win and Wigan defeat is MASSIVE!!!

    Incidentally, I also noticed....

Next game for us - Swansea (h)
Next game for Blackburn - Swansea (a)
Next game for Bolton - Swansea (h)
Remaining fixture for Wolves - Swansea (a)

Could be the Swans hold the key to the relegation trapdoor.....

Thats just about how I have it finishing but I wouldnt be happy going into the final day with the scum needed to beat blackburn to keep us up!

Of course, if we dont beat Swansea or Stoke then it means we are favourites to go down so it could all change tonight.

i did the predictor thing earlier , had us getting 6 points and staying up on GD.

Our run in is hard, but looking at other teams they all have tough run ins. For instance Blackburns last game could be tougher as Chelsea will still be playing for something , City will be second by then with nowhere to go.

I reckon 8 will be enough to stay up. Could do with Wigan starting to loose again mind you .

Wigan have a tough run in. They should lose the next 2, Fulham are great at home, Newcastle are flying high and then they play 2 poor teams, if they win against Blackburn, that means they might stay up instead of blackburn if we get 7 points. They should be adrift by the time they have a chance at their only really easy game on the final weekend.

Wigan v Man Utd Wed 11 Apr 19:45
    Arsenal v Wigan Mon 16 Apr 20:00
    Fulham v Wigan Sat 21 Apr 15:00
    Wigan v Newcastle Sat 28 Apr 15:00
    Blackburn v Wigan Mon 7 May 20:00
    Wigan v Wolves Sun 13 May 15:00

Man U and Newcastle are on great runs, but great runs don't last forever, I believe that they will both lose at least one game to the relegation fodder(!) thus distorting the run-in form guide.
Swansea and Tottenham have lost form lately, but bad runs also have to end, who can say when?
It really is impossible to say what will happen to any of us over the next six games; I still believe it is too early to rule Wolves out completely.

Most of us think 35 points is the minimum to stay up.

Wolves need 4 wins and 2 draws (or 5 wins) out of 6 games to get to 36+ points.

They have Man City and Arsenal to play with trips to Swansea and Sunderland. They are gone.

Looking at that lot you might find Wigan only take points off Wolves & Blackburn and even then if Wolves are already down they might start playing with no added pressure. Man U Arse and the Toon all have a lot to play for and sadly Fulham are no pushovers this season. Quite feasible Wigan might not get more than 2 - 3 points tops.

Its permutation central here isn't it? Thank God tomorrow's Thursday and Defoe's signing....oh hang on ...

Unless they get some amazing results, theres only 1 space to try to avoid. I think 7 points will do it.

They are playing awful and their last win was against us. Its not going to happen.

    1 win in 20 games!

I have you down as winning all 3 home games but losing all 3 away games and staying up, with Blackburn having lost (to my surprise) you have a good little buffer there and I think bar a loss tonight you'll stay up comfortably <ok>

Blackburn, Wigan and Wolves to go. Villa will be okay now having got 2 points from their last 2 games.

Looking at the fixtures best we can hope fo is that bolton go on a losing streak then wigan v blackburn will be a decider meaning that the losercan't catch us . How nice it will be if we can win our home game vs stoke and keeps us up not needing to go to the last day . We don't want the scenario of needing something at City , or wigan having to loose to wolves.

So many permitations . If we can be 3 points clear of trouble tonight and 16th i'll be well chuffed. And reckon that means we need 2 wins from last 5 games.....

Bolton game earler in the year we were inexperienced, the away game we were done by refereeing decisions.
Wigan away we had a reserve team that even featured Agyemang!
    Wolves was inexcusible. Stupid Cisse.
