Seems like Holt has hamstring problems. Assuming they prove to be serious enough to keep him out over the Xmas period who do you see playing his role? will it be a straight "like for like" swap with Moro or will we give the Harricane a go? or will CH go for a complete change and play Jacko. I think that with the way he is playing at present Wes is nailed onto the team sheet, so whoever gets the start will need to fit into the system that has proven so succesful. Moro doesn't work as hard as Holty, and although Holty hasnt been scoring as freely as in past seasons, he has had a major impact on creating for others so I'd be tempted to go for the Kane or Jackson option. Thoughts?
Kane might've timed his comeback perfectly for you, if this is the case. He played today in your 3-1 victory over West Ham, scoring twice, hitting the post and winning the penalty for the other goal.
Holty has a history of fast recovery. He's made of Iron I have a sneaking suspicion he'll be ok for WBA but we should be cautious. If he's not 100% then we shouldn't risk him The Kane bashers might end up looking a bit silly though...
We played really well for a period last season with Morison up front with wes behind then bennett and pilks on the wings and johnson and fox in the middle. Not too different to how we play at the moment so reckon Morison is in prime position, that and his regular inclusion as a sub I reckon thats the way Hughton will go. Reckon Kane will be getting a go from the bench very soon
If Holty is out than I suspect Morison to replace him. Holty will have to be hurt real bad to be ruled out though - he'd want to play if his leg was hanging off if he had the chance.
Moro did play the 'lone striker role' very well for a while last year, so would like to see him given the opportunity to prove he can recapture some of his form from last season. I'd also love to see if Kane can 'blow the opposition away' when he gets his chance. <getscoat>
Kane for me, say what you want about him, but you cannot deny that he didn't get in some fantastic positions, just probably nerves got the better of him when he was shooting. Snodgrass and Hoolahan feeding though balls to Pilks and Kane would be a real handful for many defences
Morison should be given the first dibs as he fits the system and the system is king. Plan b only if things are going south and then Jackson should be the immeidate alternative - if CH chooses Kane then why keep Jackson at all?
I'd go for Morison. Although he might not work as hard as Holt he wins alot more headers to knock down to Wes/ Midfield
