Haven't watched it yet, so I'll post something meant to be constructive when I have.

I watched it through, seems keen to be here (although he's hardly going to say he doesn't want to be here is he but then again maybe I'm just being cynical). The clips shown of him in training look good as well, for what that's worth. I'm really, really excited to have him at the club.

If he can transmit his happiness and excitement to the pitch he will be a favourite.

yeh but his keeness(sp) seems to be of the same kind of aura as that of Jan Vertognen......they actually want to play here and have chosen Spurs at very important stages of their career where we can enjoy the best of them....Even money grabbing mercenary's in their twilight talk about the dream move etc...but we all know the real reasons...so credit to Holtby for feeling proud to be a Spurs player.

Looking forward to seeing him in action, didn't realise he spoke English in a (kind of) English accent. Shades of Barton trying to put on a French accent maybe? :D

Well if his household is half English/half German then I guess he would be speaking English from an early age and he'd learn it from someone with an English accent. If he makes the squad tomorrow (which I've heard he might) then I really can't wait!

His father was born in england and Holtby is a big Everton fan so maybe his dads been preparing him for a move to England.....Just hope he doesn't try and talk like a mouser.

  8. Great first impressions - looks a really level-headed lad and as said, seems genuinely excited to be here.
The proof of the pudding will be on the pitch, but really warming to him already!!

Check the backheeled nutmeg at 4.23. Is that Vertonghen?

Seems to know his stuff, speaks very good English (understandably) and seems really keen to get integrated and get on with things.
    Positive interview.

seems like a great lad who just wants to play football. - Like Dona says, a bit of a vertonghen.

also likes to say the word "fantastic" a hell of a lot. <laugh>

His English is actually not as good as I' expect it to be, considering most Germans his age are near fluent in English, and he has the added advantage of having an English parent, I was sort of expecting it to be flawless, accent and all. Still, its hardly important!

The back heel on 4:23 is impressive, played it perfectly. More of that in the games please Mr Holtby!

I confess I don't know much about him.

Is £1.5M the steal of the century or his true market value? Is he first team material or a squad player? Schalke are a well supported, financially strong club- why are they parting with him? Enlighten me.

Schalke are letting him go because we signed a pre-contract agreement with him for the summer, so he's gone anyway.
They brought in Michel Bastos from Lyon on loan and it seems like they intend to play him down the left and move either Affelay or the highly rated Draxler into the middle.

There's a future Spurs captain there.

Looks very skilful and a good touch and that backheel pinpoint.
His shooting wasn't too bad either.

I've not seen a great deal of him tbh but what i have shows him to have talent. And being German means he'll mostly likely make the most of it and adapt well. Good signing, so far.

As PNP said, the £1.5m is just a fee to bring the deal forward six months. If he had 3 years on his contract, he'd be worth a lot more than £1.5m!
