Cant see it but would love hollowhead here. True character wont stand for players ego's and gets the best from some average players. Just what we need but as i said would be very surprised!!!
I doubt he would be given time to settle in, 1 bad result and the fans would turn on him! Would agree he is a character and despite his gas connection still think his love for the city of Bristol would drive him on to make something out of it! But his odds are still very long, every time I look at odds checker I get dis heartened as SOD or Robins would not be my first choice, but would love it if they came and proved me wrong. Still want Jones but the longer this goes on can't see it happening.
I would be happy with Holloway - my worry would be how he would be treated if things don't go well from the start
I would be over the moon with Holloway and I'm sure 99% of true fans would be too. Yes I truly hated him as a Gas player and Gas Manager (wasn't he?) but I would love it, love it, if he became our manager.
You're all deluded, he hates Bristol city with a passion, believe me I know! Firstly, he wouldn't come here. (he does have some sense!) Secondly, if he did he would split our fan base so badly it wouldn't be worth it as we would have a civil war amongst our own fans. I would find it very difficult to attend Ashton Gate with him in charge as a manager and I certainly wouldn't be the only one.
i'd happily have holloway tho i doubt he'd come to us and just got a new place in bath and said he dont wanna live close to where he is working
Holloway does not hate Bristol City - he backed the stadium and world cup bids as he loves Bristol. Period. I have less than fond memories of going to derby matches at Twerton and was in awe of the passion displayed by Holloway, Ian Alexander and Geoff Twentyman. Just ferocious and our players never had a chance. Even Joe Jordan looked like a pussy up to those guys - what a credit to the Gas they were. The man does have blue blood and that is something to be admired but if he was given the chance, I believe he would do a good job. Would take absolutely no messing from the players. He's a smart man though and would almost certainly turn us down, even if offerred the job, as he would have no leeway from our fickle fans. I'd welcome him to AG as a City manager or visting manager. He is a credit to footy and his beloved home town. I thought he was done after Rover and QPR relegations... the mark of a man is his ability to get back up after being floored and achieve success. Can't see Milly doing this.....
Picked this up on OTIB...... * its all over Twitter now. Reported on Radio Tay this morning that Bristol City will approach Saints after tomorrow's game to seek permission to talk to Derek McInnes. * http://www.weareperth.co.uk/vforum/showthread.php?t=16782&page=10 been posted here as well..
"Holloway does not hate Bristol City' I didn't say it cos I was guessing, I happen to know he detests us, we have mutual friends (similar age) and believe me he wouldn't have Bristol Citys interest at heart if he came here, only his own. Mellowed, maybe, but changed no!! As for being a clever man, well he comes across as a slightly special country yokel, but yea, I admit that would be appealing to some of our fans. I could not think of a worse, divisive, appointment
Wize the guys posting on that site are more knowledgable about Bristol than half the twats that post on here from Leicester etc.
Yeap, the Saints fans seem pretty sound - they should however google our owner Stephen Lansdown and the plans for the new stadium before deciding that we are likely to remain a football backwater.
