He used to be a decent manager with a good sense of humour but these days he's nothing more than a moaning tit!
I was really pleased that he got another crack at it, but wasn't too impressed with his summer signings and thought they'd find it tough. Will miss him though, interesting see where he pops up next. Unlucky not to have had bolasie available from the start of season, who I think is a cracking player. Would love to see him at Norwich...
Think the problem he had was bringing in too many new players, he said himself that he lost the team spirit that got them promoted. Crazy to think some of our own supporters want CH out when I think Palace are a bit silly to let Holloway go.
Blimey what did your lot do? Kick a black panther through 13 mirrors under a 5 storey Ladder. Oh no, they just employed Roy Keane.
they also binned players like garvan who helped them get up, and also bought players and then left them out of the 25 Man squad. Odd Where have we seen to many purchases go wrong before
I don't know about ****e purchases, but if you want a nomination for ****e loan players, I can make a suggestion.
Apparently Holloway walked because he didn't feel up to the task. Frankly, I think they'd have done better to say "look, we don't think we can stay up either, do your best, and we'll build towards a promotion push next season." I do wonder whether him saying that the number of new players has cost them the spirit they had is a diplomatic way of saying he'd lost face in the dressing room. Apart from spending far too much on that young striker, they didn't have a lot of money to spend, and went for quantity over quality, which was probably unwise.
Ah well their saviour could be - Tony Pullis!!! Pullis to be approached over Palace vacancy - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24648077
I am no "fan" of Tony Pulls but for anybody with a serious interest in football the "Stoke story" is worth studying. Pulis in effect fashioned a unique method of playing the game which earned Stoke mid-table security season after season while similar clubs adopting more orthodox approaches came and went. No PL side however illustrious looked forward to going to the Brittania, and in terms of what he did for his club Pulis outshone the other "maverick" manager who kept beating the odds (while winning far more plaudits in the process) -- Martinez at Wigan. Even if you despise the style of football, the man himself deserves respect and more appreciation for what he did and the originality of how he did it.
Can't argue with that. However, as few people actually like his style of football, could Palace fans be prejudice against him from the start? Certainly if he was announced as Hughton's replacement, I'd think there'd be uproar.
It's sad really but the way the league is structured half the teams are a theoretical risk of relegation. The seven guaranteed surviviors that I identified at the start of the season currently occupy the top eight positions with Southampton managing to get amongst them.Of the other twelve there is no team from Hull in 9th downwards who is safe. So we have seen the bottom two sack their managers, although it seemed that Olly walked. This is clearly a consequence of these two being isolated but time will tell if these moves amount to more than early restructuring for life in The Championship.Their squads suggest it's not.
