What is the SAFC policy be with regard to holidays for the players? Do they commence immediately on the completion of the league fixtures and terminate on a specified date for the commencement of pre-season training? Is it the same for all playing staff, senior squad and under 20's; is any variation allowed e.g. when there are school age children of a player and their school holidays commence in the last week or so in July? What happens if players are on International duty? If the new season commences mid August and pre-season lasts for 3-4 weeks then players may be returning to the Club around mid July- a break of about two months. Does anyone else think this is too long? With the exception of players on International duty I would think a three week break at the end of the season followed by two or three weeks of intensive skill and organisational training and a further further two or three weeks off then back into pre-season training would not be unreasonable. Thoughts?
all i know is a min of 28 days but its usually 38-40 days. usually if there are internationals (world cup etc) then those players get extra time off.
Yip, 28 days are the minimum plus 1 day off per week. An agreement with the FA and players union. Can go up as much as the club determine.
Don't think there's a problem with a decent holiday for the lads, so long as they look after their body and put a stone and a half on like and Reid. They need to stay fit.
