Do you know Nic, I was going to post something similar. Just got back home after the match, Shawcross was amazing today and he gave no quarter to Falcoa or Rooney.

Unbelievable that he isn't picked for England.

It's because he doesn't play for the "right" club........

If he played for Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal, City or Utd, then no doubt he'd not only be in the squad but playing in the team! <cheers>

A fella on Praise and Grumble was saying that he should be the captainof England too!

This is the one aspect of being a small team that I get frustrated with, the lack of recognition for our best and most consistent players.

The lack of recognition for a player can also bring a problem for a club like Stoke (and Swansea) in that the player may feel he has to leave to secure an England cap.

On the other hand, a prospective international may decide not to join Stoke (or Swansea) because of the potential for being overlooked by the National Manager.

Therein lies the problem Taff. When Crouch joined us, I joked with my dad that he mustn't want to play for England again. Arguably, there have been times when we have been striker-shy for England; certainly in that first season Crouch was with us. And yet he was not selected.

I don't understand the rationale for not looking at our teams. Makes me lose interest in England too

Nick - my interest lies in the fact that my team plays in the English pyramid structure.

At the moment one of Woy's favourite CBs is getting torn to shreds by Harry Kane, ..... still Hodgson knows best

I enjoyed the match , captain played well , but when are we going to learn how to defend corner kicks ? There were enough players and Bego around Falcao , their only player in the mix , to have prevented today's concession.

Ryan was excellent today compared to the likes of Smalling, Jones, Cahill today and not the first time. Doesn't have the protection they have either.

Smithers, the other guys seem to get favourable reviews from the Press, whereas your guy seems to carry the legacy/burden of that tackle on Ramsey.

If he wants to play international football, then he should opt to play for Wales! <laugh>
