http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/ar...tml?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 I said I'd post any interesting links to articles that I saw on other forums. This is worth a read. This is obviously the case 'for'. But that's fair enough, there's been plenty of 'anti' Hock stuff, so let's see the other side He's a bright guy, very focused, has been well rated as a coach and successful, and seems to believe in himself. Read the article, I thought it was a good one. Then post - what do you think, can he succeed?
IF .... is a very small word with a very big meaning I think he obviously doesn't take fools easily and comes from a good family who have all done well .Seems very happily married teetotal does not mix very well so what do I make of him In truth not sure time will tell for me but he has not got some traits that will bond a team together a bit of a cold fish some players need an arm round them can he do this not sure I do wish him well that's for sure but I have my reservations lets face it can't be worse than Neil or Brian!
Thanks for posting vision, good insight into the man. The ideas on passing football and using the better youth players are all a welcome change if he can follow through on them. For me, mid table this season, no heavy beatings and playing good football with a few of the young guys would be a big improvement
Doesn't sound like the sort of bloke you would want to sit next to on a long haul flight. Once checked In for a BA flight straight after Whisky chops at scum vile aerodrome when I used to fly business class (long story). Was asked where I wanted to sit and all I said was as far away from him as possible. In fairness though he was quite a funny guy and did course took the piss when I explained my allegiance. No Elland I didn't get his autograph and it was before selfies existed.
Loved this tweet today ... TBG ‏@TBG2005 16m Congratulations to David Hockaday on his 45th day at Leeds United.
claims to be - but then, you claim to have given up............................... ......................... several times a week
I have a feeling he's, not as bad as I feared, would not put it stronger than that. To be honest, its partly because I had him marked down as being as thick as the proverbial, and I don't think you can manage/coach without some brain cells - so the fact he's brighter than he seemed on first impressions, counts for something with me. Plus he seems tom have been well rated by a few people. With Leeds luck, just as we all decide he's a great guy after all, Cellino will realise his 6 months are up and fire him
I think you'll find that I've never said I'd given up, what I do say is that I've been off it for 5 days, 3 days etc etc....slightly different 20/20.......you don't get Irish humour......
He was supposedly part of developing some good talent at Southampton so I hoped it might not be too bad however... I don't believe he comes over well when giving interviews, he gave/wanted to give Nile Ranger and Blackmore a trial, he talks crap. I don't believe he knows what his best starting 11 is and I don't believe he has any balls when it comes to putting his authority down, just my opinion on the guy
I hope it works out for him, but I just can't warm to the guy yet. There's something not right, call it a gut feeling, hope I'm wrong. But I think he's out of his depth and he's just bluffing his way. He has to be given a chance though and we'll know more after 10 games into the new season. Morning Ristac..
Morning Irishshako Exactly how I feel, I will give him a chance but I too believe he is completely out of his depth and bluffing his way through. It is as though Cellino has brought in a scape goat who he can sack and none of us will care. Whoever took over it was going to be a bit of a poison chalice, maybe Cellino wanted someone in who would not challenge him in any form or manner over his signings. I just think something is not right still in regards to his appointment, you still have to wonder how Cellino found/discovered the guy in the first place.
