Is that a recent picture? It seems incredible that he would be doing that kind of exercise which obviously puts great strain on the knee, so soon after injuring it.
Tweeted it today. There's hardly any weight being pressed there. But the fact he is doing resistance training shows the joint is recovered and he is starting to rebuild the musculature in his quads.
That's what I mean, I thought that the rebuilding of muscle part was what they did when the injury was healed, and since he hasn't been injured that long he can't have lost that much muscle from his leg, so it would suggest he is doing well. Who tweeted it? Hobbs doesn't have twitter does he?
Indeed. McLean seems to be the social hub of a lot of footballers both from HCFC and other clubs. He is VERY popular and is certainly the most active on twitter.
Yes, and before that they were in Vegas. Dudgeon is in Mexico with his very nice girlfriend after having just bought a brand new house in Hull.
Denim shorts are never a good look... P.S Chester looks like he's put on a few pounds in that pic if it's him on the far right.
He finished the season injured didn't he, so he maybe had to go back in for tests etc? Maybe some of the players were just a bit bored and want something to do during the day in the off season.
Well this is suddenly getting a little homoerotic. Yeah it just must have been that particular pic then. But he looked bigger than normal in it.
Well he's a defender, he's certaintly not overweight but perhaps he's done some gym work to bulk up for the new season, he's a tactical defender so he doesn't rely on pace as much, so it wouldn't be that much of a shock to see him get stronger for the new season, that Tomkins for West Ham isn't fast but he's naturally strong
Chester has got pace to be fair. Like I say I think it was just that particular picture made him look bigger than he is.
He has got some pace, yes, but he doesn't rely on it like some small defenders, he's a quality tactical centre back, he reads interceptions and times tackles perfectly, most defenders over 6"0 just bully strikers and most defenders under 6"0 rely on pace to keep up with strikers.
Just looking at that photo of Hobbsy again, there's only 40k on there, which is probably about half his body weight, and so will put less strain on the knee than sitting down and standing up. When I had my knee op I was told to get back on the weights as quickly as I could so that the muscles would strengthen again, as you don't realise how many and how important they are in the knee, so I don't think we can read too much into it.
