So Hobbs is set for his long awaited return.
We do seem to have had some issues at the back since his injury.
In addition to abilities of replacements,of which we all have an opinion,is part of our problem that we do not have a leader at the back. Some would argue that Koren doesn't lead as a captain should anyway.
In the recent past we had vocal keepers who would try to pull the defence together.Mannone & Guzan in particular.Amos is still learning his own game and doesn't appear mature enough to marshall the line in front of him.
Dawson does butt he cant cope with 3,5,2 as he is much more comfortable in 4,4,2

Perhaps Hobbs will be the person to do this although like other posters on other threads I just wonder if he will fit easily into 3,5,2.
Yes it is new to all but is he a quick learner?Do we want players to be learning a new formation as we are trying to consolidate a top 6 spot?

Everyone at the back ,even Chester has been guilty of howlers .These are amplified by the one man shortage and often lead to an attempt on goal. All the backline seem to have been guilty of misplaced short passes putting colleagues under pressure and also meaning that Amos in his youthful exuberance needs to make unnecessary excursions out of his box. Will Jacks return put and end to these?

It is getting colder outside the leaves are dropping. It might not be long before the KC turns into the poor surface it has been for the last three seasons.

Will we be able to continue to play 3,5,2 if the pitch deteriorates or will matches turn into midfield battles we became accustomed to over the last few seasons?

As all long standing back room staff have left it might be worth a word in Bruce's ear at to how crap the pitch might become. That could alter his 3,5,3 4,4,2 plans and his January recruitment.

Hobbs is definitely the leader we might be missing, hope he is back ASAP straight swap for Mcshane, can't see big Bruce dropping little Bruce for him

Hobbs is in my opinion one of, if not the best centre half in the division. Confident our defence will go back to being one of the best in the league when he comes back

I bet the whole squad had only played 3-5-2 a hand full of times in there careers, up untill the this season. Hobbs will be fine in the system.

I've always though Chester was a bit better than him but seeing how we've leaked goals since he got injured, Hobbs was obviously playing a big part in keeping the ball out of our net.

But they practised it pre-season while Hobbs was lifting weights.

Agreed. 3 -5 - 2 might actually suit Hobbs much better once he is back and 100% match fit. Leave the capt. band with Koren for now / until such times as Hobbs is back in the team on merit as a regular.

As for the kc pitch ? it looks ok so far this season.
