Personally think he’d be better staying a while longer to get a bit more experience and games as he’s unlikely to play regularly at a PL club.

However from our perspective if he doesn’t sign a new contract he’s one I’d be looking to move on, whilst ensuring we get as good a deal as possible, both in terms of fee and add ons.

I could be totally off base here but I don't think he has the necessary talent to improve at a much higher level. Staying at Bristol City may be the smarter of any options that come his way but like all others the temptation of a higher profile and salary will generally rule the day. We have to go through another major overhaul of our player roster and I don't think the project would suffer any backward trend if he were to leave and it would help pad our bank account.

We all have our own opinions,
Mine, is that he would strive with better players around him especially those that are able to read the game better. Imo, whether it’s now or a season or so down the line, the Premiership will suit him no end..
I hope for us, with his ability that he will stay and continue to gel with our young and up and coming players and push the club on.. but if the price is right, then maybe the Premiership option would suit both parties..
he is imo one of our top assets

You’re not on your own thinking he is one of our top assets. Just hope he gets that elusive goal before he departs. Would not surprise me in few years time in the Prem we would get a great sell on payment for him.

City need to show them the dream-show ambition and give us a couple of years under Nige.
If they don’t see ambition they will be off.

I'd like/dream to somehow think we'd keep our young assets. I can’t see any other way of achieving promotion to the Premiership.
The club policy just a few years back was to sell our exciting young players.

    And look where we are.

Tins and Co are doing a fantastic job bringing great kids through but City can't rely on that success keep repeating itself.

I agree, everyone on here bemoaned Ashton & LJ for it, but it's a sad reality for clubs like us. If these 3 get sold from under NP then we know it was SL pulling all the strings all along (as the other 2 are long gone)- which I suspected and called out many times.

Supcon, we'll never agree but hey ho.
Imo the problem when we sold our young assets back then is we replaced them with 65 mostly ordinary players.
Trying to rid some of them still on £25k a week contracts just exacerbates our ongoing problems.

And apart from the wages, do you think it will be any different now? None of NPs signings have impressed me, Atkinson showed some good early form, but faded before his in jury.

I admit Pearson's signings hasn't set the world alight.
Tbf we're in strange fiscal times, as many as 8 Championship clubs might start next season with a points reduction.
I think we could make a case for Tanner, Pring, Atkinson and James.
You are correct in Simpson and King though.

The decent Pearson signings have struggled with injury.
Where have we heard that before ?
