Have they lost the case? Football is strange in that football creditors come first, even before HMRC. FA say this is to maintain confidence when players and tickets are sold. Recently in Scotland a smaller team were put in jeopardy because it looked like Rangers couldn't pay some money owed for tickets....Rangers paid up and wages were paid. Perhaps players should be returned to their original club if money remains unpaid. We mustn't forget that HMRC is indirectly us...we pay taxes why shouldn't football clubs. It is completely reprehensible that clubs don't pass on NI payments they have taken from players wages. Sure HMRC will test this again...they have their teeth into football now and why shouldn't they.
I'm annoyed with this decision, why the bloody hell should football continue to live in Cloud Cuckoo Land? please log in to view this image
Football needs to get his house in order. In the past, owners were rich fans and ran the club sensibly because it was their own money. Nowadays you can buy clubs by loading it with debt. Outside control and limitations are now essential. Too late for Pompey, but may prevent it happening to another club.
