Hitchcock won us the game against Ipswich last time out, surely worth the last 20 off the bench for the weekend at least
I just don't understand this. 10 minutes to go and we need a goal - Hitchcock or Zamora...........................
Harry must be confident he will get a striker in !! anyway who on earth would sign BZ ? Oh us...damn it
Probably they think he needs to develop as a player, 10 minutes off the bench here and there won't get him to what we need, he needs lots of game time. We will get another striker in either on loan or perm so this is the best thing for him.
I'm beginning to think Harry's not able to recognise a good young prospect and is only interested in "once ables" after a last payout before retirement. Need to dictate a change in policy IMO. Build a squad who are young, hungry and able to take their opportunities to impress. I also think that we would have fewer injuries with players a bit more physically agile (except the likes of Hoilett). In short, disappointed as if Charlie gets injured, we are back to relying on AJ & Zamora.
His comments in todays press conference suggested that we are after a new striker. Glad he isn't shouting names from the rooftops as was the case previously, get the player then talk.....
I agree yet people moan:- 1. When he gives no info on transfers and 2. When he shouts his mouth off about transfers.
I'd snatch your hand off for Defoe on loan for a couple of months! The problem with Harry is that he really rates Zamora and has said he's nearly fit again!
Even if he sees out a loan, it will see us short in the last 6 weeks, we still need someone else too.
There is a similar thread to this one on LFW that is driving me mental with some of the sarcastic "Harry can't know what he is doing" because he has sent him out on loan again and not using him as the savior to our problem that some people see him as. I'm all for opinions, I am for a bit of spleen venting, but is there no trust left in a manager who has us 3rd in the league at Christmas after having to rebuild from a relegated squad? At this stage, there has to be a REASON why Hitchcock continues to be sent out on loan, a reason or reasons that might be known to a 60+ year old experienced manager, and a similar aged and experienced coaching staff, (including the player in question's old man) who work with the kid, day in day out for weeks at a time. I laugh at the arrogance of certain posters who, whilst rightly frustrated with our lack of fit and available strikers, insist they know better than the management team based on only seeing the bloke for 5 minutes. Ok, so he scored a goal that I would have probably scored as well, but that does not mean he is automatically the new savior, does not mean he has the capabilities at this moment in time to lead the line on a regular basis until he has spent a few months getting 90 mins under his belt on a weekly basis. Sitting him on the bench every week and giving him 10-15mins up against the big ugly brutes of the championship might well do more harm than good - perhaps that is the reason why HR has let him go out on loan, not to antagonize certain fans. I suspect HR is also worried that if PB and TF twig that he has an understudy for Austin or Johnson, the cheque book might not get taken out of the draw or at least the number of zeros they are willing to put on the end of a figure for a new player might be decreased if they think that the first team is not as badly off as Harry keeps trying to tell them.
Absolutely! Hopefully Hitchu is going to be the next Sir. Les, but, obviously not now, in a few years time. So, what do you do? Send him out on loan to get some experience.
