Wow,this is a rare foray for me,(my G.P. was against it),but I felt that congratulations were in order after your stunning victory over much fancied Man. City. So - heartiest congratulations. I didn't see/hear the game, but it was apparently a well deserved win. No-one saw it coming, and that made it all the sweeter,I'm sure. As the late, great, rugby commentator Bill McClaren would no doubt have put it,"They'll be dancing in the streets of Pontcanna tonight". There are,of course, downsides to such unexpected results. Is there more to come? Was it a one-off? Have you peaked too soon? All very valid responses to such an auspicious event. Time alone will provide the answers. The other, more pressing problem, is that having now taken the scalp of such high profile opponents, expectations will be so high that victories over lesser teams will be taken for granted. Teams like, say,West Ham United, should be easily dispatched......oh,wait a minute !!! Seriously, enjoy the result, but it will get harder.
Wow, when I started reading I thought "Fair play Vetch, you're normally one of the more childish posters on this site"... Then I kept reading...
Can't help yourself eh VETCH? You could have put up a genuine congratulatory OP and avoided the snide one line remarks purely designed to aggravate Cardiff fans. Why will it get harder? Maybe, but are there better sides than Man City out there? Have we peaked too soon? Why ask that? Perhaps we haven't "peaked" at all and we just played well to a plan?. If we'd read the OP without knowing who'd written it, I guarantee every poster on here could have guessed the author. Long way to go. I just hope this sort of euphoric atmosphere we're experiencing at the club is not a one-off as you suggest it might be. If it is, you'll have your opportunities to gloat in the future, but at the moment we'll enjoy it as it is thank you.
As usual you lot have misread the post. It is full of congratulations, but you choose to ignore that fact. It also contained a bit of tongue in cheek rib tickling, together with some bona fide questions. Clearly, you look for the negative and ignore the positives. No gloating sparkey.I leave that to you lot.
Let's have a chat when you've been away to West Ham about how bad a result that was. They've played 180 minutes and their keeper hasn't had to make a save. Fat Sam has produce a very effective unit and at home they'll be very difficult for every team that goes there. Honest question do you think Swansea will finish above West Ham? I think they'll finish 7th or 8th. Thanks for the congratulations, its 3 points one of the promoted teams will not expect to get and it takes the pressure of having to get some thing from Everton at home next Saturday. As you said you didn't watch it so discussing the performance with you is pointless but as other Jacks have said we deserved the win, made the better chances and other than a couple of tame headers Marshall didn't make a save whereas Joe Hart was one of their best players. If we play that well against Everton and Spurs there'll be more points gained from out very difficult home start to the season.
Vetch, I will take your positive feedback to our win with good grace, thanks you. As to your other points, every team can ask themselves the very same questions.
Don't frequent your board VETCH, so who from here has been "gloating" over there since you've lost your first two games? Give us some names. Your "rib tickling" is just a thinly veiled disguise for wumming - something you lot across there get opoplectic about if a Cardiff poster tries it. I'll take tongue in cheek banter anytime on, but you lot need to accept it over there without replying with the usual rabid responses. For the moment, we are mid table and you are bottom. As I said earlier, early days - let's see how the next half dozen games pan out and we'll see if we have "peaked" and you have just been "unlucky".
