The 2012/13 season was marked as our centenary, yet am I right in believing officially Gillingham FC was not born until July/August 1913. So although we played in the name of Gillingham FC in the 1912/13 season. Officially is our centenary not until next season and we can start the celebrations all over again - this time without the red shirt please.

This is from Wiki regarding our history -

"In 1912 the directors passed a resolution to change the club's name to Gillingham F.C., and the team played under this name throughout the 1912–13 season, although the change was not officially ratified by the shareholders until the following year".

So I think you are right brb.
Gillingham FC as a name & club played during 1912/13.
But 'Officially' we didn't become GFC until August 1913.

So we can celebrate twice. Once for each :)
