If you have a black granny ? then yes you too qualify to be offended by Jezza in his scatter gun approach to offending ethnic minorities .
For example if someone actually used the word slope towards my wife in our earshot I would probably break their nose .
Doesn't matter what race my Gran is, I don't need to be told when I qualify to feel offended. I actually don't feel offended by Clarkson but I can quite see why some are tired of it. I don't think many would argue with you about that scenario with your wife tho.
I like Top Gear. I don't like Clarkson - never have done.
I think the programme is entertaining, though the last five or six series have been poor (I'd argue this current series is a return to form), but there's no denying if anybody punched their work colleague they'd expect the sack and he should be no different. I don't buy the argument that he is a racist - I think he just likes being controversial for effect.
I do think he's been trying to angle his way out of the Beeb for some time though. This might be the route out he's been looking for. Fully expect him to be signed up by Sky asap along with his mates.
