http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/a...d-in-romes-airport-going-for-napoli-medical/? There are videos and pictures of him arriving to Italy. And not those dodgy pics we saw at one time.....so he is lost for sure. Suarez change is minimal. Would Bernard be the answer?!
Isn't it over............. Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain arrived in Rome for a reported medical with Serie A runner-up Napoli on Wednesday. The Argentina international was greeted by around 100 jubilant Napoli fans, waving club scarves and Argentina flags. Arsenal were also interested in Higuain, but the 25-year-old is expected to complete a transfer to Napoli and link up with his new team-mates at their training camp in Verona.
If its true they paid 35 million pounds, they have been robbed, he is worth 20 million, maybe 25 at a push.
I'm not sure of his worth, but am of the belief that he is worth a heck of a lot less than PL proven Suarez.
I hope he is willing to go to £45 if he has to. Somehow I think Suarez will help us get him for less if the personal terms are good enough.
I hope RM are not now so flush they are willing to overspend on other strikers as its an area we are in the market for a big name and lots of the big name strikers seem to be closing in on deals!
I reckon it will go down to the wire, with Pool saying he's not for sale for under £50m, Arsenal saying they won't pay more than £42m and settling on the last day for £44m
Now it is 99.99% complete....the owner of napoli confirmed it on twitter. I feel we have missed out on something big here....I thought Higuain is something we exactly needed. A pure and clinical striker....what else is there on the market?
I wouldn't have spent 35 million on him either. But that doesn't mean I'm going to be content settling with some 10 million striker :-D.
I'm sure the detail will find it's way into the public domain at some point but there seems to be a fair amount of strength to the rumour that having agreed a deal with Madrid for a lower figure, when Madrid became aware of Cavani's transfer and Napoli's new found wealth, Madrid pulled the plug and raised the price tag. Not a nice way of doing business so I do hope AW and the board aren't blamed for failure to capture Higuain. That said if I was selling my house and before I exchanged contracts someone appeared out the blue and offer me an extra 33% I along with every other home owner on the planet would take it....
