I’m in a bit of a rebellious mood.

    hindsight [ˈhaɪndˌsaɪt]
    n
the ability to understand, after something has happened, what should have been done or what caused the event

For, I would guess the last 2 seasons, I have read about Anton, his concentration, a liability, get rid, is he still here. Now I don’t and didn’t neccasseraly agree with all of that but I know we all read those comments.

QPR come in with a good offer, Anton gets a move back to London, we have Titus,Turner,Brown and Oshea along with young Laing so we take the deal, well done Quinn and Bruce.

Bardo gets himself a 4 match ban then Titus decides to have a night out, cant see how even the biggest Bruce critics can blame him for this, but they seem to be trying.

With that word, hindsight, we now read the error, mistake and folly.

Its nothing to do with Bruce in or out its all about being fair and consistent, oh, and before everyone tells me how well Anton has been this season, how many games was that?

My thoughts echoed superbly syd - We all thought the Anton deal was a decent deal.

He played well in his first few games but he wanted a lot of money to stay here and poly had a year to run on his contract - it was a case of take the money or end up with a lower scale Owen situation at Newcastle - remember that Ferdinand cost about 8m didn't he?

We did the right thing and got a few million for him. Not a bad deal IMO and, as you say, a massive amount of fans wanted rid of him in the close season - saw him as "dead wood" - those same fans now blame Bruce for letting him go - it's also probably Bruces' fault that Bramble got arrested (was Brucies Daughter out in Yarm on Tuesday night??) and that Bardsley stamped on Mata. All Bruces doing obviously

De-ja vu, could also be used in some circumstances....

As for Anton, i was one who wouldn't have picked him in a team, and i'll stand by that, but hindsight, he was a decent reserve. That was all.

The deal for Anton was a good financial deal but I think many of said at the time that it wasnt neccessary thats all. If the money was to be used to buy N'Zog or similar then fine you takes your chances but we all had fears over Browns lomg term fitness, O shea was still not fit a the time he was sold, Turner hadnt kicked a ball in anger and Bramble was returning from a long lay off himself.

No-one could have predicted Bardsleys 3 match ban or Brambles stupidity (both self inflicted downfalls btw) but there were genuien concerns raised by quite a few regarding us being a bit light at the back if we had injuries or breakdowns.

Its not hindsight when it is talked about at the time.

Cant change nowt Syd, just have to get on with it, maybe the making of a few younger folk who knows, and in six months time, that could be talked about in hindsight.
