The damage to the legal battle was done early on at the first inquest which was antiquated and totally based on and in favour of the lies spouted by South Yorkshire Police, members of Thatchers government and the following hatchet job on Liverpool(the city)and Liverpool FC and supporters in the Tory press.
Today is so sad for those who died, their families, those that were at Hillsborough in the Leppings Lane End who survived with injuries and lasting mental issues because of what they witnessed and went through, but lets not forget the honest coppers who had their truthful accounts of what happened altered to protect those in high places who were to blame.
96 men, women and children "unlawfully" lost their lives and their families were left with lives of misery and a lifetime(for some)of seeking justice for their loved ones only to be slapped in the face by the establishment who made sure they won in the end.

    JFT96 RIP

I find the comments by the QC who was representing one of the ex police statement changers to be completely reprehensible. Calling the fight for justice a "witch hunt" shows not only a lack of respect for what we're actually talking about here but a sinister and vicious side swipe that leaves all the grieving families with yet more to have to deal with and process as their lives try to move forward. What a horrible man.

    RIP 96 <rose>

There's clear evidence of a case to answer for. Always in this country, bent & shyster coppers get off. Absolute scummy ****s, the whole fcking thing stinks and what's happened here in particular is a disgrace.

Jonathan Goldberg the lawyer for Peter Metcalfe gloating and dismissing the tragedy (not just the prosecution) as a waste of money is a particularly insidious and nasty ****. This was him outside the court.

"It's said to be the longest and most expensive series of criminal investigations ever mounted in Britain. Apparently costing into the hundreds of millions of pounds. Hillsborough is probably the most investigated disaster in British history. That money would've been better spent on building new hospitals or schools."

    What an absolute prize ****.

It was a lengthy and expensive investigation because high ranking officers were directly culpible in the death of 96 people and spent 30 yrs+ trying to cover it up with all the sirupticious and underhand establishment and media tools at their disposal, whilst trying to pin the blame on the victims.

Those ppl died because of your client motherfcker and they have families still looking for justice and closure you crass insensitive ****!

****ing hell the absolute state of that <doh>

I've never liked that prick Chiles but have even more reason to dislike him now. Unforgivable to not correct him on basic facts of the incident.

Awful, though sadly not unexpected, that they've been protected.

    RIP <rose>

The live feed from outside Anfield, with Margaret Aspinall, the mayor of the Liverpool City Region and the Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham(good on you Andy for showing your continual support for the victims and their families)

    https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/live-hillsborough-denton-foster-metcalf-20679653

One of the three scumbags QC's still spouting the bare face lie narrative of a "riot" outside of Hillsborough, ****ing rat trying to rake up the hate against LFC supporters and the vile accusitions that go with it all over again.

I don't know how people can be unlawfully killed and nobody held to account, that just doesn't stack up.

Fans were completely exonerated so trying to push the riot narrative is, as I said before, sinister and malicious. There are hours and hours of video, all available online showing the images leading up to the gates being opened and none of it shows rioting of any kind. It's very, very damaging to keep pushing these lies.

I'm so angry and sad, I can only imagine how the families feel. Steve and Andy are both former MP's, I hope they still have some kind of influence to bring to this and that there's a further avenue to go down to get some kind of justice.

This. I've stayed quiet because I'm disgusted. No words would cover it.

The problem with this riot comment being banded about is that it'll drive some people back towards blaming the fans again. Show us the footage of this riot then? There's plenty of footage so it must be available.

Even the unlawful killing verdict has been tarnished, it's clear now that's all they were ever going to get.

Chiles had apologised for not picking the lawyer up on his comments saying he didn't hear it. Seems unlikely that he didn't hear it but good on him for apologising and acknowleding his mistake.

Being of a cynical nature i pretty much expected no one to face justice but **** me they could at least show some remorse for their behaviour .

Its more than "unlikely", Radio hosts(dj's)wear earphones in the studio to cut out background noise etc, Chiles deliberately allowed the **** to spout lies because the fallout highlights him and his show.
Its not like he never knew who he was interviewing and what the twat could say.
The apology is as genuine as a £25 note.
The establishment made sure the establishment won, the BBC is part of the establishment and the case was heard less than a mile from their headquarters.
None of the legal proceedings in the 32 years were held in Liverpool(Merseyside)because of possible predjudice yet Yorkshire(home of Sheffield police)and Salford(home of Liverpool's enemy)where seen as ok.
The lot of it from top to bottom and from beginning to end stinks of bias and manipulation of events to protect the establishment.

Anyway lads(Wishi), thats my rant over, sorry if i upset anyone but this has ****ed my head since 1989.

Mate nobody could ever be upset by anything you said in relation to Hillsborough. What you say comes from a place that's deeply personal and we all acknowledge and respect that immensely.

The haters out there will hate no matter what. The verdict was unlawful killing and the fans were exonerated of any blame. That's the truth of the matter and will always be so. Hang onto that.

It's a complete miscarriage of justice that, given the verdict, nobody pays the price.

God rest the 96 souls. Never forgotten.

Yesterday this article by a so called Liverpool supporting QC in the Tory rag Johnson slated Liverpool in declared "There Was No Hillborough Cover Up".

    https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/there-was-no-hillsborough-cover-up

Today South Yorkshire and West Midlands Police agreed to pay compensation becacause there was a cover up.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-57356486

'Two police forces are to pay damages to more than 600 people over a cover-up which followed the Hillsborough disaster, lawyers have said."

Seems they dont mind admitting it in a civil court but not a court of law, hypocritical bastards.

This was never a fight for compensation. It's a fight for justice. Money won't bring the loved ones back. The only, very small, consolation is that it's paid as an admission of guilt.

Maybe the South Yorkshire and West Midlands police could use some of the money and get one of those blue plaques to remain in place in perpetuity with wording along the lines of 1989 - 2021
