Just read about it Frank, the most interesting quote is imo, "there was "some indication" two of the three former officers may have committed a criminal offence, it was "not deemed appropriate" to refer the cases to the CPS." Whitewash, ****ing rats. Hillsborough disaster: No charges against two officers http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-43400437
I think that's it now, only the main suspects left are those going to court, I hope Im wrong because it took an awful lot of bent police to pull off the smoke and mirrors routine for all those years which included the first inquests, the Midlands Police inquiry into the SYP conduct and the private prosecution of Dukenfield.
Very, very disappointing. The only very small positive from that article is this ..... ''It said a referral could potentially delay the trials of the six people, including match commander and former Ch Supt David Duckenfield, already facing charges related to the disaster and its aftermath.''
Liverpool Revisited As I wake to a sunset The light dances on the Mersey And I think of the 96 As the tears fall down on me And there is courage There is pride You can see it in your eyes Fight for justice fight for life There are angel in these skies As the night falls around me I see joy and devotion These times will never leave Like the rain on the ocean There is dignity and pride There is poetry and life There are ghosts within these stones There's defiance in these bones And all the hatred they tried to throw at you But you stayed so strong Yeah all the hatred it never was the truth So keep keeping on This is forever We'll never leave you now This is forever We'll never leave you now
Guessing he means this... https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...-stop-application-preston-court-a8394051.html
What an utter ****house him and all the others are, absolutely no remorse and acceptance of responsibility from any of them. Watched a documentary on Hillsborough last night funnily enough which is why my interest perked when I got a notification. Would like to say I'm surprised but I'm not really. Hopefully common sense prevails and the book gets thrown at the lot of them.
As far as I can make out their claim to rule ''abuse of process'' means that should the stay be lifted, they would not be able to have a fair trial. The defendants have the burden of establishing that the period between the date of the alleged offence and the date when their trial is likely has resulted in such serious prejudice to them in the preparation or conduct of their case that a fair trial is impossible. It is up to the Judge to hear the arguments and then decide whether the application to stay the committal proceedings can or can't be sustained in law or on the facts, and either go ahead with the prosecutions or dismiss. We very much need Judge Sir Peter Openshaw to be strong here and see that justice is done.
