A "no brainer" in my book. He has been fantastic far more often than not since his return from Forest. A very determined player with a great attitude. He has marshalled the defence far better than any of our other more vaunted players. If we are looking for a new captain there would be none better.
Even though i thought he was too old, Im not unhappy about it although Id hope he would be backup and solid backup at that.
Totally Agree, he has been a man mountain for us in the 2nd half of the season and he's proved he's up to it in the Premier League. The odd mistake that he makes is more than made up for by his commitment and passion. He would make a great captain. He's my player of the season, just ahead of Mackie. Who'd have thought that we were crazy enough to loan him out to Forest earlier in the season.
He most definetely deserves it. Top guy, top player. Woy should take him to the Ukraine and Poland instead of Terry- Clint is the guy to organise and bedrock England's back 4.
Damn shame his goal was not given. Made no difference to the club - just - but I am sure made a great deal of difference to him personally.
Player of the season. Out on loan after we had signed "bigger" names, came back and has been solid. Well worth having him around and on more money too, he should be rewarded for his hard work.
I'm hoping that Sparky will strengthen the centre of our defence over the Summer, therefore Clint might not be first choice next season. However, he would be great to have in the squad and, after this year, you couldn't rule him out of a starting berth next season. I very much hope that this story is true and Clint is offered a new contract.
Keeping Clint for a couple more years is like signing a guaranteed performer - for free! No-brainer imo.
