HILL: 'GREAT SENSE OF OPPORTUNITY' Posted on: Fri 06 Jul 2012 R's defender Clint Hill has hailed the stability on show at Loftus Road - a trait he feels can help QPR improve on their position of 17th in the Barclays Premier League next term. With five new signings already in place and further additions believed in the offing, the feel-good factor in and around W12 has never been better. Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, Hill said: "It's just good to have that stability. "All of the planning and everything that goes into pre-season is done now and we can come in next Monday (for the start of pre-season training) and everything's planned out and we're ready to go. "There's great stability at the Club at the minute. A new training ground is being built and there's a great sense of opportunity to kick on and hopefully be an established Premier League team." Mark Hughes and his First Team squad return to Harlington next week following the close season break, with Hill continuing: "I'm ready for it. "We've been away for about eight weeks but it goes so quick. "You start to get itchy feet - you can only do so much running and preparation before you get into it. I'm really looking forward to it. "The new players will be coming in and there's also a nice tour to Malaysia and Indonesia to go to - it's good signs and hopefully we can hit the ground running." The Players' Player and Supporters' Player of the Season added: "Every season is a test for me - I've got to prove people wrong and try to give a good account of myself, which I'm willing to do again. "New players have come in and your place isn't guaranteed. But I've got good experience from last season - hopefully I can try and achieve half of what I did last season, and I'll be happy."
Have to admit that i did not rate Hill. Thought he was to slow for the Prem. Maybe he is. But IMO there are two key positions in a team that you need leaders. One is in the middle of the park and the other is in the middle of your back four. Hill gave us that leadership last year when needed. It will be interesting to see our starting 11 for the Swans game. IMHO i would like a new CB to partner Onouha there. Hill and Ferdy in reserve. Nelsen can cover FB.
Hill may lack pace but makes up for it with his reading of the game, 100% trier and a fantastic example of a true pro...
