Now this is going to be tricky!! There are so many to choose from... From the first day of 2011, when Russell Martin netted to beat then-runaway leaders QPR, we've witnessed some amazing moments such as Lansbury's last gasp winner against Millwall, Holt's in the dying seconds against Reading, the 'Dougie', Crofts 'Fashanu' remake at Barnsley, spectacular victory at in-form Leicester, double hattricks versus Scunthorpe, at the back of my mind I seem to remember we beat a team in blue and white who play like ****e in a portaloo by a rather large scoreline... 5-1 was it? We've seen against Derby, Jackson's astonishing winner to keep us second, THAT radio commentary, THAT goal at pompey, those celebrations at Fratton Park, those celebrations at the Coventry game, those celebrations at City Hall. And now in the Premier League, our first away win in the top flight since '94, Holty's thunderbolt at Anfield, last gasp drama versus Blackburn and now a festive cracker at Molineux. For me there can only really be one winner... it was THAT goal, THAT ridiculous goal in the 95th minute at home to Derby County, Jackson's hattrick goal, which ricocheted in off his knee, which kept us 2nd above Cardiff... because THAT was the moment in my eyes that I knew we would do it and get back to the Premier League. One of the most memorable moments in Norwich City's history. Merry Christmas everyone! And if 2012 has even a fraction of the excitement we sampled in 2011, then we are all in for a very happy new year.
Another highlight for me regarding knowing that we were back in the PL, was that wonderful opening 20 mins at Cardiff, when boro destroyed them.
Would agree 100% with THAT goal, I still watch it at least once a week - just everything about it was simply amazing and I nearly did myself some damaged bouncing around the house when it went in! Another big moment was watching the Cardiff City v Middlesbrough game just a few hours before our game with Pompey. As the Cardiff defence leaked goals for fun I was getting more and more drunk. To have the promotion confirmed later that night just seemed like a formality and the euphoria experienced earlier in the day was not reproduced (probably as I was nearly incapable of standing by that time ) Last nights goal by Andrew Surman got me very excited! In my opinion our best goal this season and will be one of the highlights of the year. one of so many
Actually. just listened to the radio norfolk commentary for THAT goal and it sends shivers all your body. What a day
There is little to choose between the Surman & Holt goals to be honest but perhaps I am being influenced by the fact Surman has not had a particularly fantastic time this season and a headed goal like that was the last thing I expected to see from him. Holt or Morison yes but not Surman.
Does it for me, every time Perhaps we need a thread for it, make it a sticky so we can all enjoy it every day - Dave, you reading this?
Agree wholeheartedly, I was at CR with my daughter that day and its one of those moments I will never forget. Amazing! Yes!
For me, it's Grant Holt wrestling off an Ipswich defender as he runs down the right wing and blast in a cross that Simeon Jackson then taps in.
ok, how about a thread for just all the great moments then - picture, radio commentary, video clips etc??
Not a major highlight, but also improtant for us fans was the win vs brizzle on the tely to break the sky monkey off our backs! If 2010 was vintage, then 2011 was premier cru!
How about the second goal at Barnsley by Andrew Crofts - what a stunner!
Just watched THAT goal again at work and the girl I sit oppostie just asked me why I was crying. As a complete non-football fan I can't even begin to explain to her so I told her I'm peeling onions under the desk
Hi Thai, very busy at work! Why don't you post a link to THAT goal, then use it as your signature? Munky - I'm sat here crying as well! Most girls would never understand, luckily we have at least two that do! Take a bow, Yellows and gorlestongirl!
