Looks like some of CanariesSoccer's glorious match day threads have had an effect... http://www.canaries.co.uk/news/article/frms-announcement-17-dec-12-548684.aspx
Nice to see them call us an 'elite club'. Also, the talk of friendlies makes me think an American Tour this summer might well be our pre-season. I'd like to see us play San Jose Earthquakes for example. I'm not sure how the US season ties in with ours though. Is this a sign that Aviva won't be extending their agreement further?
to be honest i've got no issue with this at all. its good that the club are attempting to lift the profile of the club globally and not just in this country. there are big markets to be tapped into, especially in the states and any extra revenue the club can pull in is a bonus.
City have signed a deal with U.S. marketing giants Front Row Marketing Services. this sounds like a major piece of business for us.
Don't really understand a word of that press release. Lots of media soundbites, but nothing substantial as to what this agreement is supposed to produce for either party.
This is great news. Like it or loathe it, there are few bigger money spinners than the big American Sports clubs - look at Baseball, an absolutely terrible sport yet it's the most-watched sport in the world. Just hope this doesn't signal the arrival of "plastics"!
In some ways I don't mind how many plastics we attract, they'll never get a seat in Carrow Road anyway! The more people buying merchandise the better though.
Just hope this doesn't attract any American ownership. Call me churlish... Call me cynical... (To be honest you can call me Hildegard, I really don't care)... ... but nothing so far in the Premier League involving buy-outs from over the pond has given me any sign that it ends up well for a club.
I don't think its nessessarily the end of Aviva, although I would be alittle surprised if the deal doesn't involve shirt sponsorship eventually. Hopefully it doesn't lead to a total buyout however. I'm happy to allow them to promote our name in the US and make money for both parties that way, but some of the current American owners of other EPL teams wouldn't fill me with confidence if they were here.
Marketing is really important to the club and this can only be a good thing, on saturday McNally tweeted about friday being a big day for the club, then they announced Wes's contract and I assumed he meant that, now I'm not so sure. we currently have a sponsorship tie up with Lotus i would love to see a norwich logo on the lotus F1 car like the Chelsea one on the Sauber, F1 is a truly international sport and would build interest. Man U is worth so much because of how many people have heard of them and follow them. The Premier League is seen all over the world, we have to take advantage of the stage we've been given to make the most money we can. I think this is great for the club.
You can add to the Sauber relationship that QPR have their logo on Caterham's, so it's getting increasingly common. Lotus being possibly a stronger F1 team than Sauber and definitely Caterham, it would certainly reflect well if that was possible.
We seem to be heading in the right direction. It's getting fairly big in the States when I was out in Los Angeles during the summer I was shocked at how popular it was.
