Plus his wages would have been sky high, i think we need some wages to allow another striker/winger, as we cannot rely on just kedwell for goals! Thoughts anyone?
totally agree harry, spend on a new striker, defence & mid field are stronger this season so hopefully less pressure on the keeper,
Exactly and to be fair to Kedwell i really don't think he will set the world on fire, granted he will get a few goals though hopefully! but we definitely need at least another striking option as we currently have no proven striking options.
You need to have faith in Kedwell, not good doubting ur strikers. Hes a proven goal scorer. not at this level but he is worth a chance to prove himself. I believe he can get 20+ goals. but i agree, i would of liked Brown to of come back as i have fond memories of him but we need another striker.
I'm not sure Kedwell will get 20 odd goals. The reason I think this,is because we've got more chance of scoring goals from other areas of the pitch this season,and if we get another striker as well,hopefully he will be getting on the scoresheet. We've got a better chance by the goals being shared out, because if you''ve only got one player who scores ,teams learn how to stop him. Cody got a lot last season,but when teams learnt to stop Bayo, Cody's goals dried up,and Adam LeFonde at Rotherham, stopped scoring after Christmas,once teams got to know how Rotheram were playing. But Chesterfield had several players getting into double figures,and that's what we will need this season.
tbh from what i've heard kedwells game isnt just about scoring goals he seems to create a lot for other people so having some free scoring midfielders like whelpdale, weston (on his day) and even lee to a certain extent should serve us well. only thing that may hold us back this year is we've lost our 2 goal scoring defenders in gowling and nutter who both were capable of chipping in 5 goals between them. unfortunatly fuller still hasnt scored for the club, lawrence may get one as could king but richards who was brought here with the tag of being a goal scoring cb hasnt really performed. oh well another striker and we should be set
