Some people wanted him instead of McCarthy..............dear god. Lasts two years max, runs away from jobs, cannot organise a defence. Not for us.
Always rated him as a manager at this level. Generally gets team playing decent stuff (promotions with Blackpool & Palace are not to be sniffed at) Though Millwall clearly wasn't a good fit for him and the rumour was that he was on a pretty substantial wage (why he wasn't sacked sooner I would guess) but I saw one of his recent press conferences and he looked like a thoroughly beaten man. This episode will no doubt leave a black mark next to his name but I hope he comes back soon though, football needs characters like him
I'm mixed on him. Ran away from Plymouth. Did a terrible job at Leicester. Terrible job at Millwall. Mick any day over McCarthy. Footy does need characters like Holloway for sure!
I don't rate Holloway, he's more of a self-publicist with a knack for quirky post-match comments than possessing any tactical nous. For anybody that saw our 3-1 victory over them earlier this year, they looked a clueless, disorganised mess. He did a good job at Blackpool in getting them up, I'll give him that, but his gung-ho attacking approach ultimately consigned them to an immediate relegation. He's effectively relegated Millwall and he did a terrible job at Leicester. Indeed, to think he was considered a potential appointment here. I dread to think where we'd be in the table.
Horrible record at Millwall. Been in charge of 62 games, only won 14, lost 29 and drew 19. Glad he never came here after figures like that.
His Millwall stats are shocking but over 38% win ratio at Blackpool, Plymouth and QPR would suggest that given the right situation he can be successful and isn't far away from MM's own record, whose worst win ratio record was also at Millwall. The one thing you can safely say about holloways record is that when it goes wrong it goes badly wrong which is similar to his style of play. Entertaining but can ultimately be flawed.
Better than the last three clowns ,admittedly,on a par with Joe Royle, but worse than John Duncan?!(for those who can remember his dark days, when the style of play wasn't disimilar)
Sometimes it works other times it doesn't!! Look at Forest, Warky found it hilarious that they brought in Dougie Freedman but now look whos laughing, as i said at thr time, i think he is a good manager but for some reason it never worked out at Bolton, at least the managers mentioned are forward thinking, cant really say that about dinosaur Mick!!
Bigal, i never missed a home game during Duncans reign and they were dark days indeed and i agree, the football being served up at the moment is just as dire, only diff is, somehow we are near the top under MM (not sure how tho)
