there's an interesting piece in the mail today about Aston Villa. They reckon Lerner has only watched 2 games this season and is now seen as a distant figure. Also they're suffering because of the massive contracts handed out to certain players. One player is on 3m a year. I wonder who that could be ? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ow-Randy-Lerners-dream-turning-nightmare.html
Oh dear, how sad, never mind! You reap what you sow in this life. Can you all remember the Villa ****e we took on 606 last January, when Bent signed for them? How they were a big club blah, blah blah.? I have no sympathy for them at all.
I don't have a lot of sympathy for them either because I really do believe they got to Bent before the window opened - Niall told Kildare Radio he'd noticed a change in his attitude some "six or seven weeks earlier". In fairness though, I think there's a bit of journo-weaving in here. Lerner's always been a bit of a distant figure. When MON was there, Lerner was at Villa Park around 9 in the morning. Some journos asked him for an interview. He agreed to do it on one condition - no matter where the interview stood, it ended at 9.45. "Mr. O'Neill comes in at ten, and after that this is his place." He wouldn't even be on the premises when MON was doing his work - a good chairman? I think so.
