With the passing of time our idols and heroes change I go back as a youngster to Big John Atyeo but coming up to date,my recent heroes have been Tinman,Scotty,Louis and Gary Johnson,my zero's Hunt,Stewart,Coppout and Agyemang. Currently and zooming away are Delboy,Skuseeeeee,Cunningham,Baldock (all the squad) but these specifically and Kilkenny is beginning to rankle... Who are your current Heroes and Zero's...?

Also the current first 18. And McDel, the best McJock in town. Most of all Sir Steve, may he reign for ever... Zeros Dont know, dont remember the failures
Agree about zero's - can't be bothered with them! Hero's - Bobby Kellard, Alan Skirton, Dickie Rooks, Mike Gibson, John Atyeo, John Galley, all of the old First Division squad, Ernie Hunt, Tinman, Walshie, Super Bob, Andy Cole, Louis - that will do for starters!!
Hero's Tom Richie, Steve Neville, Glynn Rilley, Kevin Mabbutt, Basso, Tinnion, David Smith, Micky Bell, Martin Short, Gerry Gow, Gary Shelton, David, Rennie, Alan Walsh, Andy Cole, Scott Murray, Loius Carey, the list just goes on Biggest hero, Super Bob Taylor Zero's we have had quite a few of them but you tend to forget them two I can think off is Stewart and Hunt signed but only signed for Coppell so never had any intention of playing once he had gone! Currant lot will hopefully go down in my Hero's book, I picked Loius simply because he is City through and through and would walk through hell for the club.
My heroes by decade since I started following City. Players only. Managers could be a separate thread. 1950’s Big John, Jack White, Ernie Peacock, Tony Cook, Jimmy Rogers, Bert Tindill, Jack Boxley 60’s Big John, Jantzen Derrick, Jack Connor, Mike Gibson, Shadow Williams, John Quigley, Gordon Parr, John Galley, Gerry Sharpe 70’s The whole promotion squad, Joe Royle, Norman Hunter, Chris Garland, 80’s Rob Newman, Bob Taylor, Alan Walsh, Gary Shelton, Glyn Riley and Terry Cooper’s kids in 1982 who helped the club to survive 90’s Jacky, Nicky Morgan, Tinman, Martin Scott, Andy Cole but only in home games-too lazy away, Agostino, Junior, even if he couldn't hit a barn door from three yards 2000’s Scotty Murray, Louis Carey, Mickey Bell, Marvin Elliott, Tommy Doc, Basso Zeroes Tony Dinning, Brian Mitchell, Harry Nicholson PS; The eight of course and every other player throughout our history who has pulled on the red shirt and done his shift to the best of his ability. Thank you all.
I'd still consider Millen a hero for us. He was with us a long time but sadly he got his eyes on the managers job and couldn't quit when he knew the team wouldn't go anywhere. He doesn't deserve to be labeled a zero after all his time with us. I'm very surprised that no one has mentioned Neil Warnock in their zero's list. The guy loved to trash talk us after we kicked his ass out of the playoffs and after the weird goal issue. QPR are still suffering from his poor management.
Two interesting points; I remember the little lad David Burnside who entertained the crowd by juggling the ball at half time. That was something not seen before the great Hungarian side arrived at Wembley and Ferenc Puskas did it while waiting for the kick-off. A unique hero Alan Dicks who took the team to the top league who was also my zero for putting on the most boring negative football displays I have ever seen!
Agree with just about all the heroes. Definitely Terry Cooper especially after going into the away end at the old reading ground to try and calm down the supporters, and his team made me cry at Wembley. surprised with all the stick that he took tha a certain NM, hasn't appeared on a few Zeros lists!! Can't remember his name now (it's an age thing) but how about the guy who broke a supporters arm when kicking the ball into the crowd at reading.
Heroes - John Galley, Chris Garland, Geoff Merrick, Gerry Gow, Tom Ritchie, Paul Cheesley, Keith Fear, Norman Hunter, Wayne Allison, Sir Bob, Jackie, Ernie Hunt, Donnie Gillies, Walshy, Gerry Sweeney, Newman, John Bailey (just for comic value), Mickey Bell, Tins, Jock Mahoney, Keith Waugh, Andy Cole, Louie Donawa just for that one goal that beat the Rovers 1-0. Zeroes - Millen, Millen, Millen, and again Millen - nearly cost the club its place in the Championship Rosenior (Liam), Steve Phillips (England's number 1 my arse!), Coppell, Nyatanga, Rennie (Franz Beckenbauer), Tony Thorpe (scored lots of goals but appeared to be a total arsehole as a person)
