In a perverse way I hope you do make the champs league pal. What better incentive for Ellis Short to provide us with more investment this summer; for life long Sunderland fan Martin O'Neill to deliver something for his club; and for us to see your squad stretched in tough games.

I would love UEFA Cup football at the SOL, as we may be able to cope with peripheral teams in Europe but we would be lost in the champs league.

My guess is you will finish 6th. Man Utd, City, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, yourselves.

Would 6th not be better and UEFA Cup football? I think you have had an excellent season but you're not good enough to survive champions league rigours.

BTW, I want us to win for us today, as I love seeing bish bang smug Cockney barrow boys with faces like slapped arses.

Tell me, what's your opinions about the smug, cockney mafia these days? :D

That will be one of the palyers wives on the bar, which Pardew will be trying to smash her back doors in later.

We won't get anywhere near the CL. I think we will get 6th and no Europe however I am quite the pessimistic chap. With regards to the board, I reserve judgement on them until September. The good work by Pardew and the players can cloud peoples judgement on the work of the board but if we keep our big named player then I would me more convinced of a turn around.

With our current squad we probably wouldn't get very far (we mightn't even win a game), but the Champions League still means 10 times more money (even if we were eliminated at the first group stage), less games/ distractions, and at less stupid times, and would help attract bigger names. Any rational toon fan would rather have Champions League. 95% chance it won't happen though.

This. Ashley did well again in the January window, but he'll be under far more scrutiny in the summer. It's effectively when he decides; does he sell our best players, but not reinvest properly? Or keep hold of our squad core, and try and become a regular top 6 force?

All I gotta say on this is

Cawmon Sun'dah'lun! Help us get that 3rd spot!

Rarely can you sit down and enjoy a football match that is essentially a win-win situation. Even a draw would be good for us.

That photoshop is awful Syd. You could've at least trimmed the backgrounds out, Ashley isn't even looking at the lass on the bar. <laugh>

Yeah good luck today, it's unlikely we'll be able to reel either Spurs or Arsenal in, but any favour would be much appreciated. <ok>

Why have you photoshopped Ashley in next to himself?
