Spurs to beat Bolton on Wednesday (2nd), after which the Rs just need to at least match Bolton in the final two games. Sunday 6th: Bolton vs WBA QPR vs Stoke Sunday 13th Man City vs QPR Stoke vs Bolton It would be helpful if Blackburn beat Wigan on Monday 7th, too. The FAs approach to Hodgson has come at a bad time for the Rs, as the Baggies could now be unsettled for their game at Bolton - they certainly have nothing really to play for. Interesting how important Stoke are suddenly. By the way, it was never really on the cards that the Rs would get anything from today's game. After the Spurs game, it has always been about the Stoke match. Although there's still hope whilst it's mathematically possible, personally I don't think we're gonna make it now. Wigan's form has put the kibosh on what only a few weeks ago seemed a likely Rs survival.
We beat Stoke and I think we stay up. Spurs will hopefully be rejuvenated from their victory vs Blackburn and will beat Bolton. I can see Bolton struggling vs Stoke and their aerial threat will be too much for them. Hopefully WBA can do us a favour. Am I positive or just plain deluded?
Good post as usual Uber. If spuds manage to beat Bolton then you would think that we will both win next weekend. The problem is that Bolton are far more likely to get something at Stoke than we are at Citeh. If the unimaginable happened and Bolton loose next two games then we could actually be safe before Citeh game. First things first, lets hope spuds do Bolton big time on Wed.
Thanks Nuts. You're right, of course. How wonderful would it be for the Trotters to lose their next two and the Rs to get three points against the Potters? It doesn't feel particularly likely right now though, does it?
I think you are right, but see that bolton can and will beat WBA....so all we have to do is beat Citeh....so a most important result for us is United to beat City tomorrow
Yes, good point too, Beth. A United win opens a six-point gap, meaning a home win against Swansea secures them the title. This may or may not assist us for the final game at City. Alas, I thought we'd see a post-Barca hangover for Chelsea today, so am no longer optimistic that City will be any less motivated when the Rs come a-visiting. I still have my vision to fall back on, of course.
