shrews can forget about their lowly place in the league and must be gee'd up by a sheer guts and determination come back against the u's. the match kicks off at hereford at 13.00 on saturday and unless you dress up in hereford colours, entry may be difficult as away tickets are limited to 650/700 because of demolition. the wearing of loggerheads hard hats may be advisable. local trains are- but please check before travelling. shrewsbury depart 09.40 arrive hereford 10.32 ---------------------10.39--------------------11.34 ----------------------11.16-------------------12.06 hereford depart 15.53 arr salop 16.48 -------------------16.27-------------17.19 and further departures at 16.54, 17.24, 17.53, 18.27 for lingering boozer celebrations/or we now concentrate on the league! i expect gt to play a similar team to the u's game as this will be our marvs last game due to the red card. shrews must then roll up their sleeves for 2 awkward away games, although not impossible ones to crack, especially if shrews confidence is blowing off steam. finally a warning- no hanky panky in dinmore tunnel please. floreat salopia!
Genuinely looking forward to this one. 'Playing our way into form' was mentioned on the verdict yesterday and questions will have to be asked if we can't dispose of the Bulls, with all due respect. Would like to see players like Doble and Woods on the bench and maybe getting more than 2mins at the end.
Atcham, Marvin can play against Hereford as he has now served his two-match ban. I would like to see him play with Proctor up front with Taylor and Helan on the wings. Hall should start in midfield with either Jacobson, Purdie or Parry at left back. I think Richards needs a rest but have no doubt he will be in better form and back in the team soon enough. I am not sure Collins and Jones is the best combination and would prefer Hector to partner Jones. Hereford have had a relatively poor start to their season as newly relegated teams often expect to be up with the pacemakers. I went to the Hereford game last year and they were truly woeful and I suspected they would go down. I know this is the Cup but we should have too much for them and I predict we will get our first away win (and our first win on a Saturday) this season and go on to improve in the league. I just hope I can get my ticket when they go on sale tomorrow. There is still a lot of speculation about the third signing with some people adamant it is Ryan Lowe and others equally convinced it is Jeffrey Schlupp. Either of these would be great as they both know the way to goal. Surely now it is time to offload on loan players such as Bradshaw, Doble and Wright who do not give the impression they can cut it in this league.
good posting totally agree with you on all points.....no wages being paid at Hereford at the moment, so they be a bit demotivated too
Tinned Hats, It always amazes me that some teams seem to play quite well when the players are not being paid (but dont tell that to our chairman!) but I take your point that the problems at Hereford could have had a demotivating effect. Sky Sports are reporting today that Gary Peters has been made redundant as Director of Football at Hereford.
Statement from the chairman saying Gary Peters has left the club in a better state than when he arrived !!!!!! (Actually he should have been made manager instead of them hanging on to Pitman for so long)
Interesting that GT is saying Collins has done OK but can do better. Obviously he is saying that Collins neeeds to improve if he is to be offered a permanent deal. It is further good news that Proctor and Helan can play - I think they should be able to cause the Hereford defence problems along with Marvin. BBC sport is saying Crewe want to take Ryan Lowe on loan so we may need to move quickly if we are interested in him. I would love to see Ryan back as he , like Marc Pugh, should never have been allowed to leave in the first place.
i think there is quite a few who shouldn't been allowed to leave given to the fact of the poor quality that has replaced them, lets hope the new boys can find their feet quickly...will Hereford be a banana skin for us?...and if they are, what next?....
i suspect there may be words in herefords board room. the present regime appear to be blaming a former regime for their woes. gt aint too happy. my advice is to stand clear of the iron clad roofed nissan hut that now doubles as the board room and visitiors toilets. doubtless cutbacks have played their part and roland will be offered bulmers westons or ribena. take your hip flask roland. pip pip floreat salopia!
I was very disappointed to hear that GT is attracting some flak from the current Hereford regime. We all know that GT is as honest as the day is long and actually put his own personal finances at risk to save that club from extinction. It beggars belief that he is now apparently being blamed for part of the current mess. I know we sometimes crticise our chairman for his tight hand on the purse strings but when we see what has gone on at clubs like Telford, Chester, Port Vale and Hereford over the last decade we can only thank our lucky stars for the way our club is run financially.
thats a mighty 10/4 greenhousmeadow man. i just hope our lads can do grahams talking for him on the pitch. if it wasn't for gt, the bulls might have gone out of business years ago. and roland you keep them moths under controll, they are doing a great job looking after the pennies
