Well it sounded as though we were in total command in the second half but even then it was Nicky Bull who had to make the saves in both halves and we could have gone down against the run of play in the second half. From the commentary the first half was a half of two halves with Wycombe dominating the first quarter and Herford coming into the game in the second quarter. But from the kick off in the second half it was almost one way traffic with Wycombe unable to carve out any clear cut chances other than when they hit the post. The only disappointment for me was JP Pitman who just didn't seem to get into the game at all. I look forward to reading the proper report on the game.
Poor result - 2 points dropped against the side with the worst home record in the league. The lack of cutting edge is starting to annoy me to be perfectly honest. Stockport last saturday saw numerous missed chances as well so perhaps it is finally time to start McClure, or Pittman. And I still think Beavon is best as an attacking midfielder in the 'hole' behind the strikers.
I managed to get to this game and we didn't seem to get out of second gear. They defended in numbers and got forward in numbers. Hereford were rather dirty early on with 3 or 4 late 'challenges' after the ball had gone, 2 of them on Beaver. I wouldn't say this put us off but it didn't help. Hereford gave the abll away regularly throughout the game and we nearly had a couple of break aways from this but just couldn't get the ball out of our feet. We were struggling in the last third to creat decent chances. What did worry me was defencively we don't talk and organise enough and when players pick up the ball outside the box we sit and wait or back off giving them time to shoot or pass- not good enough at this point in the season. I thought Leon had a good game but is guilty of not organising others and backing off. Sandell came on at left mid which is what a lot of fans have beeen asking for.
