Report in the Sun (so must be true!) that Fulham are close to signing Dutch youngster Luciano Narsingh and his Hereenveen team mate and Moroccan international Oussama Assaidi for a joint fee of around £10m.

    http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...oised-to-complete-10million-double-swoop.html

The pair were apparently shown around the Cottage yesterday 'under a veil of secrecy'. So secret, in fact, that the Sun got hold of the story and promptly published it! I assume the visit was with a view to a deal and they weren't just desperate to get a look at the Michael Jackson statue.

Sounds like an exciting move if it comes off, but I don't know anything about either of them. Anyone seen them play? Both players are attacking wide midfielders apparently. Significantly Assaidi plays on the left, which will no doubt send the Dempsey rumour mill into overdrive once more.

I've heard that Luciano Narsingh is a very good player. He plays on the right of mid but can also play on the left. For the last 2 seasons he has been top of the assist charts. Something like 16 last season. He also got a call up if I remember rightly to the senior squad against England last feb.

Not heard much about the other player.

This deal, if true, would certainly suggest the end of the line for Digger and Duff. Along with Kacaniklic and Frei (although I see Frei playing more centrally long term), our wings would be well stocked with youth.

I can't help thinking that money could be better spent on either a striker or an additional CM though. I guess it depends how much Mo is prepared to make available this year; given our performances over the past few months, he may be prepared to trust Jol with up to £20m.

Wingers is probably the ONLY position that we don't need strengthening! One would be okay but we definitely don't need two! And to splash out £10 million? That will be the majority of Jol's transfer budget spent on strengthening a position that we don't need strengthening! I don't doubt both are very good players, but we already have the likes of Frei, Duff, Kaka, Davies, Dempsey and Ruiz who are all wingers.

I'd much prefer to see the money spent on a central midfielder or right back.

I'd prefer to see a rumour with substance.

The article in the Mail had quotes from both the players agent and the club selling them, so it seems pretty legitimate Bidds. Plus we all know how much Jol likes players from the Dutch league.

Very exciting I think. I wouldn't see a problem with them coming in. Technically very good players who are versatile! It's all about versatility.
    IMO of course.

Furry muff - although Jol's affection for Dutch league players is all paper talk; he's only signed one!

Let's hope they're not both strictly wingers, and that it's a case of the opposite to what happened with Ruiz (thought we were getting a striker, and got a midfielder).

I know there is a certain degree of uncertainty that comes with every transfer rumour, but there is no smoke without fire, this rumour looks pretty solid to me, although Jol is probably just keeping an eye on some wingers incase we are forced to sell Dempsey/

I've seen this on a couple of sites now so it seems to be legit. We have a good amount of wingers at the moment so my guess it's going to be 2 in 2 out. With the 2 out being Davies and either Duff or Dempsey. If this does happen we will have a great selection of young pacey wingers and to me that can only be a good thing.

The story is also being carried in Dutch papers who are fairly well respected.

I'm not sure they are strictly wingers Bidley and it's more about versatility as Craving says. Hush, but they could arguably fit the roles currently taken up by the double Ds. They will undoubtedly threaten the position of Duff and Davies (and this balances with the movement to youth argument) but I'm not sure they will neccesarily oust Frei and/or Kaca.

Also, if I were to pick any young player from Hereenveen for us to sign it would be their 22 year old striker Bas Dost. He has 32 league goals this season and I know it's the dutch league which isn't near the quality of the Premier League but the boy clearly knows where the goal is.
