Because the cameras were there,a cauldron of noise. That was a tame atmosphere. One thing for sure take Tammy out of the equation,we are powder puff up front, the goals will dry up and we will start sliding down the table. Anybody understand why we paid 2.5 million for a striker that is crocked or unfit. Bit of a boo boo me thinks. Wilbs was great in league 1,but is not the answer in the championship. Lee Johnson is challenging Bristol City's players to impose themselves upon the opposition from the start of games. Below-par first-half performances have become a recurring theme in City's season and Johnson's charges have conceded the first goal in eight of the 12 Championship fixtures they have played this season. Although the Robins have proved resilient in claiming eleven points from games in which they trailed at half time, the head coach knows his team cannot keep coming from behind to win. No matter how many changes in personnel and tactics he deploys, Johnson has yet to find a solution to a problem that cost City dear in Friday's Severnside derby clash against Cardiff. Read more: Five players that Bristol City could sign during the January transfer window City performed way below their best in the first half and never really recovered from falling behind to a Peter Whittingham penalty in the 25th minute. Sol Bamba doubled the Welsh club's lead midway through the second half and, even though Lee Tomlin pulled a goal back, the visitors were unable to come back and suffered a first defeat in six outings. Now required to select a team and game-plan for tomorrow's trip to Queens Park Rangers, Johnson must return to the drawing board in a bid to render his team more competitive in the first half of games. image: http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/images...es/JMP_Cardiff_City_v_Bristol_City_AJ2378.JPG please log in to view this image Asked if he was encouraged by an improved second-half performance from his team in Cardiff, Johnson replied: "No, not really, because we always get better in the second half. It's not good enough to have to keep tactically changing the game and using our substitutions. "The performance forced me into changing it again and I don't want to keep having to do that. The ones who are out there from the start are good players and we need to make sure we get our necks in front, because that is really important. "We didn't do that and it was disappointing. I now have to pick a team that is trustworthy, because we have another away game and we need to administer the game-plan. We have to come up with a game-plan and then it's up to the players to sort it out. Read more: Awkward.com! Watch the moment Lee Johnson blanks Steve Cotterill live on Sky Sports "I hate having to change the plan and go more direct, but we were in a position where we had to try and get ourselves back into the game." image: http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/images/localworld/ugc-images/276268/binaries/leejohnsonraged.JPG please log in to view this image Asked to what he attributed his team's below-par display in the first half, City's head coach suggested some of his players might have been adversely affected by the occasion and the presence of the Sky Sports TV cameras. Her added: "We were really poor in the first half. I didn't feel we played our game and I don't know why. Our distances were so far apart and we played like a bunch of individuals. Lee Tomlin was too deep, Tammy Abraham was too isolated and we played too many straight balls. "I don't think it was their fault, but maybe it was because they were coming into a cauldron and playing in front of the Sky cameras. Maybe that affected their mind-set. It was very frustrating. "I don't know whether it was the players posing, or whether it was a case of rabbits in headlights. I really hope it was just a matter of them being caught up in the atmosphere, because that is easier to fix." were doing just fine, still get annoyed tho when we lose 1 game and people (person) can wait to open a negative thread, even worse when its lifted straight from the evening bloody post.
Beaten by a side put together by NW that had not won on their own patch all season, with players that had not played all season, one being MOM. Tomorrow will be very interesting if Tammy is not available.
Red Robin get a life mate, if anyone would have told me (you) we would be 5th in the league after 12 games i wouldn't have believed them, ok small hiccup against Cardiff, but everyone new, after Warnock was appointed, it was going to be a doubly tough game, if we finish anywhere near mid table this season, i will be happy.
Yes we are all happy, but we could be in such a better place silly mistakes at Sheff Weds,Rotherham. I have us down to finish 5th come the end so i am full of confidence. However i see the issue of Tammy being out of the side a major problem. Negative no realiste yes. Nobody has come up with an answer on Engvall, the club spent 2.5 million on a unfit or injured player, he has not really kicked a ball in anger as yet. The Tammy situation has been brilliant, but this young kid cannot carry us until the seasons end. He requires back up which at present is a 36/37 year old in Wilbs.
We lost 2-1 for heavens sake at a place where a new manager was installed just prior to the match and of all people it was Dame Nellie. I believe we are still several players away from being a contender and we have to trust in the management to get those deficiencies fixed when the window opens. If you look at where we are compared to last season it's like chalk and cheese and our current league position is one of consolidation. Tomorrow's game against another team that have had our number for years will be the acid test and should the result go against us then we have to regroup for the next home fixture. Don't panic, and coming from me that's almost an endorsement of what Lee has done so far, but I think that without Tammy, or some competent replacement, we could be in for some tough results. When the going get's tough the tough get going is the old adage to live by and we'll just have to see how well we are prepared.
Can you change the record it's all getting a bit boring now. Yes we know Engvall is injured yes we know you think he cost £2.5 million (doesn't necessarily make it true though) he is 20 years old and it was said at the time when he was bought that he was one for the future and it would take time so not sure why you are so fixated on him.
Where are the excuses made in that copied and pasted report? I didn't read any excuses just someone saying we was poor in the first half and the team played like indiduals. Not really excuses as we saw for our own eyes it was lacklustre in the first half. When Cotterill was fired we beat Boro who then went onto having a good season. But some bi-polar fans believe we should be unbeaten where ever we go.
Would we really want to play the Warnock way?? Good if you're scrapping for points, but wouldn't want that week in week out. I don't think we are a million miles away from the real deal and don't ever look like we will be on the end of a hiding.... Just a few tweaks, here and there. Like i said before, keep changing every game and the players won't gel... Still good in my eyes, just need to be a bit patient!!
I've put you up for 'fan of the season' Red Robin.. I have to apologise to you, I thought you were a clueless moron who didn't have a ****in scooby about football. How wrong was I...
EXCUSE = a verb and is also noun it becomes rather complicated in stating "its use" because the background it is in context with has to be explored .. the human mind within the English language does this in a split second ... like please ex skuse me I would like the the salt or I was late because the train had to stop for leaves = an ex skuse . being a factual reason. we lost because of ...... is usually more than one reason, mant smallones, ... clutching at straws trying to gloss over an inefficiency on the part of the user....
