It wasn't an argument. He made an excellent point in a magnificently effective way. They were always getting access. Mad he may be, stupid he's not.

We do have a shirt sponsor but they don't want to be placed on the shirt this year as far as I knew. Hence we aren't allowed another sponsor because officially we have one.

Might be wrong but that was my assumption.

My understanding is the old shirt sponsor is about to launch a winding up petition for £5.5 mill. Given cellinos rack record he s gong to end up squandering any transfer money we get in this window.

Seems to be over 100 Norwegian and Swedish fans with flights booked for the original date. Perhaps Sky will reimburse them

I don't doubt it from what I read on here! Do feel for the overseas fans though.

Totally agree Jock, I also believed he was making a point, he's not stupid enough to misinterpret the details of the contract, but making a point while still honouring the contract is a point well made, commercially......:emoticon-0148-yes:

From what I've read in past, which could mean anything of course, Kappa paid LUFC a huge amount of money to sponsor the shirts but without a business name emblazoned all over it. The kit looks a hell of a lot better and given a choice, I would always buy the shirt without a business name on it.

When you think about it, and apparently Kappa shirt sales are high, people who ask "who make the shirts" "Kappa do" A, Kappa get their advertising any way and B, I reckon the majority would prefer a shirt without a business name on it, therefore, Kappa get increased sales of the replica shirts because the fans don't want a business name on their shirt.

Good move by Kappa and good business by Cellino it seems.

My understanding is that Cellino was warned by his legal team that he couldn't sell the advertising because the previous deal he agreed with Andy flowers and enterprise does not run out until this June... Flowers as you will remember had tried to be part of a group to buy Cellino out and had subsequently issued a winding up petition for non payment last year.... That's why Cellino doesn't want them on our shirt....

Needless to say cellino hasn't settled despite saying he would and for every shirt we sell, every tv appearance we make our liability to enterprise potentially rises....

May all be bollocks, or Cellino might win the case ( yeah right) but it's a clear and present danger and sorting it could be in excess of £5mill if the case is list.

As I mentioned, I went on what I heard/read in past, mind you, if we read enough media and opinions, then we tend to end up with a subject quite a way from the original subject.

I'm not saying you're wrong, and could well be right, but Cellino may have seen something, or was told something that gave him the incentive to go ahead with Kappa.

However, and it might just be me, but I can't see how a fans personal choice should influence any future legal action, if any. A fan, by right, has the choice of picking which ever Leeds shirt they prefer, and if there's more than one version on market then fans are given the choice. Flowers can't force fans to buy his shirts, nor can he say if Kappa weren't making their version of the shirts, then fans would buy ours.

It's understandable why these two may well be at each others throats which, realistically speaking, makes it hard to believe either if hatred or revenge are doing the talking......:emoticon-0148-yes:
