Signed http://www.bcfc.co.uk/page/Home/0,,10327,00.html Look at the size of his arms against waggy hughhhhhhhhh
****. He's ****ing huge! I'm glad we landed him. I think he could be a pivotal player under the right manager.
Flint is also quite big could we be trying to bully our way back up? its about time we have some big units in the team
Don't expect him to win any headers though.. I am truly disappointed that we have let him go, he's been inconsistent and something of a financial burden but he's a truly classy player and seems to be a bit of a character too. I just hope this is the kick up the backside that he needs and that his all round game can get somewhere near to his sublime touch and vision and you'll have an absolute bargain.. (I think you have already regardless) I think most fans Ipswich accept him leaving as he never delivered and he wasn't likely to feature much for us next season but there is the (all too common) concern that we've shipped a player out too soon & for too little... similar to how we did with Liam Trotter & Jordan Rhodes
It is interesting to see where he plays I think it will be either as a forward or attacking central midfield player he seems to drift out of games when played wide but I expect S O'D has told him where he will play because that's what has happened to other signings and Jay must be happy or he wouldn't have signed. I think you could well be right King_of_Portman_Rd I have a feeling that this could be the signing that makes our season and he might just turn out to be the bargain of the season at least.
Hawk i think he will play just behind the front striker,or central to midfield, either way i think SoD will get him playing football again,We all now he has it in his locker.
The first time in years the manager has rectified holes and problems in the side in one single swoop. I really am looking forward to the coming season. Top two has to be the aim,yes it will not be smooth but that is where we need to be. What are the latest odds,i believe we are still second favorites, these signing can only make that a stronger possibility. JET has to be the signing of League 1 now for Billy Sharp
We really should be aiming for promotion. Top two is too ambitious, as logic would say that since we were bottom last season the best we should hope for is third. I reckon sixth is more likely for us, although I'd love to be proven wrong. I'm also eager to see how JET will fit in. He'd be perfect in a 4-2-3-1, but since we're reliant on wingers I can't see how he'd tuck in behind a forward. The quote from Wenger regarding JET sticks with me. He's a big lad, but how much of that is going to stick around when he's finished his pre-season training? I'm hoping he'll be leaner when the season starts up.
Well he has a month to get into shape I'm not sure how we will line up because with 6 players arriving already, plus I get the feeling that several are going to be leaving which will mean another influx to follow shortly it is going to be hard to predict who will be in the squad let alone the team at this stage, It was only a week ago people were saying there was no chance of JET being a CITY player this season Now the Sharp rumours are being treated the same way Sean obviously makes an impression on those players who have played for him before and those who have heard about him. I wait with bated breath nfor the next thrilling installment in the Bristol City Transfer saga.
I think we will adopt a system with a sweeper at the back, a single striker up front and an eight man midfield.........................
Would certainly be goals in a game set up like that 12-10 but we would probably be on the losing side more often than not.
