I hope I am not breaking any rules by posting this but hopefully will be of interest for some of you. Some of you may know of Herbie Taylor who does some of the guided tours at SMS. He was also voted Sports Fan of the Year in 2010. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1994348,00.html Partly inspired by Herbies love of all things Saints, a local writer Philip Douch (who is also an avid saints fan) has written a comedy play. It is described as a celebration of our club's rise from near extinction to last seasons promotion, taking in the JPT Final at Wembley on the way. Unlike most football related plays that focus on violence on the terraces, this is about the fun of supporting a football club. It is being performed at The Berry Theatre in Hedge End on Thursday 28th July (book now on 01489 799499)and at The Nuffield Studio Theatre in Southampton on Saturday 30th July. If you are missing your football fix during the closed season, this might scratch your itch. It would be good to see works like this by a local writer with a saints background being well supported and a success. Thanks for reading this far. Tickets for my 'Herbie and The Saints' play are now bookable online at The Berry (www.theberrytheatre.co.uk)and The Nuffield (www.nuffieldtheatre.co.uk), as well as by phone.
Thanks for posting. It's not really my bag but i'm sure will appeal to other saints nuts. Herbie has probably forgotten more than i will ever know about our beloved team and shows huge dedication. If the show ends with us getting to the prem then even better!
That's a great touch doing that. I hope it's a success. Perhaps our new signing will walk on stage during the final act.
