He looked very tired after 10 minutes of playing yesterday, when the others were tracking back he just waited, offside, (Though unlike former players like Adebarndoor he actually got back onside when it mattered, still worrying though) and looked exhausted.

Whilst we would all love to see him partnering Van Persie in a 4-4-2 or something, it probably won't happen as he can't last the 90.

He doesn't need to last 90 mins. Just bring him on when situations like last night arise.

I don't think we should expect too much from Henry, he's here to assist when needed - if he can. He's already proved that can work.

I'm just going to enjoy the time he is with us - last night's elation was a great reminder of the romance in football. For me - that's worth it alone

Remember, he was supposed to play in the reserve game against Sunderland but didn't. He is probably still short on fitness.

I think it was more emotion and a massive adrenaline dump which made him look tired. His nerves must have been on edge the guy was literally fizzing when he came on. I'm just glad I got to see him in Arsenal colours again (and scoring). It's a night I will never forget!

i agree completely, imagine you in his boots.
his celebration was like a kid at christmas and you could see just how much it meant to him being in the arsenal colours again and how much it meant to the fans :)

This is all about expectation - Henry will not make 80 yard runs, we have to remember that whilst he still has a hell of alot to offer (on and off the pitch) his style of play has changed, it's had to with age.
Approaching 35 you have to change your game - look at what Giggs does for Utd now compared to where his threat was 10 years ago.
Henry may well be short of match fitness but remember he has been training with us since November, 2 months in I doubt there's any significant improvement in overall fitness to come, just an acceptance that the body changes over time and is no longer capable of doing what the brain wants it to !

Surely if he's so unfit and STILL got the winner, he should be awesome when he is fit shouldn't he?

I think the signing of Henry, albeit on a 2mths loan is just con to placate fans during this transfer window..... I can see the Board saying, "let's give them something to shout about, we get them a legend and not adress their concerns" (i.e. quality additions to the team), this Henry euphoria should last them until the end of the transfer window!

So you think the decision to sign Henry was taken by the Board and not Wenger ?
Probably more chance of Cliff Bastin rising from his box, kitting up and scoring a hat-trick on Sunday than that being true....

Of course Wenger agreed with the signing, my contention is: That is the end of the January signings...... Not even a striker that will last us till the end of the season, injury to RVP and we are TOAST.....

omogooner - your view has some credability - much more than the Board saying ' we think you should go and buy 2, £30m players, Arsene.'
