Apparently the hold up in the paperwork needing to be completed is down to the New York Red Bulls. Wenger wanted to play Henry today in a reserve match against Sunderland to boost Henry's match fitness, but Arsenal are still waiting for NYRB to send the necessary paperwork in order to complete the two month loan deal.

This is frustrating as it's the last fixture before the Leeds game, in which Henry is likely to feature, and it would have been useful for him to get some game time. That said, he has been training with the first team, so it's not like he's coming in completely cold.

COME ON NEW YORK!!! Would be fantastic for him to have 70mins under his belt before Leeds. Just that extra 2%.

I would not be surprised if this so-called delay is no delay at all ... just Arsenal doing a lastminute.com request to New York.

Faxes/scanned docs travel far faster than a steam boat across the pond ! Unless of course the delay is agreeing things and it takes 2 to tango !

  5. Back in the days of David Dein, we just got things done. Now it's a miracle or a wing and a prayer. Seems to me like the management like the team, need to get sharper. The decision to bring back TH could really have been taken earlier but hey, what a surprise it wasn't!!!

On that note, I hope we won't delay in getting cover at the back too.........

Taiwo (Loan), Goetze (25-30 million), Podolski (20 million/ or less money + Rosicky), Henry (Loan) = :)

I think some of you must have misread the article. The delay is not down to Arsenal, it is down to New York Red Bulls.

It's completely illogical that some fans still want to try and blame Arsenal, even when the evidence tells them that it's NYRB who are responsible for the delay.

Expected tbh, there are people who defend Wenger when he has clearly done wrong, and people who blame him for itching his nose... they are just as bad as each other. Both ignorant.

Very easy to say this with hindsight. Of course we can do everything earlier, but circumstances change.
You may say that should have forseen this, but you cannot always prepare for the worst, especially in football.

I think Park will play, as will Henry - so Wenger has planned for replacements for both Gervinho and Chamakh.

It's the same problem, just that the details are coming out. Red Bulls have delayed signing the paperwork because they want him back in training for 20th feb, whilst we'd like him to be available for the spuds game on 26th.

I wonder if we will not be able to have Henry ready for the game against Leeds, in order to make sure that he plays the game against the Spuds. If the delay meant this happening, would you take it? Which is more important: the Leeds game or the Spuds game?
