Most people here reckon that Lansbury won't make it and I too think that is likely...however I do think that will be a big mistake. Lansbury has made a big impact in his previous loan spells and it's unfortunate that his most recent one may blitz any hope he has of making the grade here. From the offset however I feel with the system fat Sam employs this was always going to be a failure. Hoofing the ball up field and playing on the right wing is not what Lansbury is used to at arsenal and I think It was the wrong loan choice made. His position is central midfield where he may utilise his passing range and marauding runs. Whether or not he makes the grade at arsenal I feel he at least deserves a chance as players far less deserving have been given one. Oh and this is not knee jerk because he finally played 90mins today!
Apprently had a great game plauing as creative midfilelder. Sruck the post in first minute a d scored one thiug he didnt know.much about it. Involved in most build up play.
I think Lansbury could make it at Arsenal, he reminds me of Ljungberg. A real battler. I think he needs another season on loan, if it goes well, then I'd give him a chance in the first team at Arsenal.
He wasn't given a proper go at all. I remember seeing him play twice and he looked pretty good. Considering how many chances we gave to people like Denilson, Bendtner etc, he should have been given a better go. As for you Jayram, you are basing it on little information indeed. He has some very good battling qualities.
Yes I am - he could of course get much better but from what I have seen he does not have the pace or vision (you need one at least) to make it at Arsenal in midfield.
You're talking like we have amazing Cesc type midfielders. Yes our midfield trio is working well at the moment, but it still goes down as one of the weakest in the Wenger administration. I like Arteta a lot, he has brought a great deal of stability in our midfield, but is he amazing? Does he do amazing things? No, he does the basics really well. Whats saying someone like Lansdbury couldn't do it? He was never given a chance to prove it....
I think Arteta has had an amazing season. Important goals, hardly ever loses possession, accurate passing, long and short, good at winning possession. Not quite at Fabregas levels - due to Cesc's assist rate - but not far off. Arteta is in the top 3 all round midfielders in the league in my view. Song has been great. It's our 3rd choice that has been flaky , but more recently Rosicky has come in and looked back to his best. I just cant see Lansbury even challenging for a back up spot with Wilshere and Diaby returning. If we buy another top midfielder, which I think we will, there is really no room for Lansbury in the squad even.
I think you're being overly generous about Areta. Although i think his contribution has been invaluable to us, he just done the basics really well and i would definately keep him. However, he isn't really top 3 material is he? Players like Silva, Mata, Toure, Modric, Rosicky to name a few, are all better than him. Maybe next year he may play better, but as it stands, he is not top class.
We'll agree to disagree - I think Arteta is being under rated because he replaced Fab. I rate him as top class. He's certainly a world away from Lansbury in terms of class.
Lansbury will.be quality in arteta's position he has a great passing range and vision. I've seen him.in a couple of.games and i feel he has the right mix.of.grit and technical ability to make it.
I think Song and Arteta will be two of the first names on the team sheet for the next 3 years. Wilshere will make up the three, with Rosicky and Diaby getting games also. Unless Lansbury improves a lot and is willing to wait he wont be an Arsenal player in the future.
to be honest he's not up to much. Very lazy, and messes it up more often than not. Bad attitude too, can't help but think he'll be bad for team moral back at Arsenal. Probably best to give him to us on a free and we'll try to keep him out of your hair!
£30mil and hes yours! Serioulsy though ive only heard praise.for.him from canary fans. Was specially great against ipswich. Wasted at west ham i think he has a chance.
Yeah, that confused me too. He is 21 years old, and already had two previous loans spell in the championship (Watford and Norwich). I thought he would finally get a loan move to someone in the premier league.
