I wasn't a fan of his appointment, but have to backtrack a little.

I felt he wasn't consistent enough and at time even poor. Couldn't see a leader in him.

At this moment he's doing the job well and is a solid performer for us. There are lots of different types of captains and to me he has to play well every game as an example to others and he's doing just that.

    Well done lad.

He's not your typical captain material is he but is doing a good job, plus I wouldn't want to change anything at the moment [not even my socks]

Adapted pretty well to his new role - but he's still no leader and he struggles against a team that puts us under pressure.

Pleasantly surprised with him this season though.

Not a Liverpool captain for me, playing well again yes, but I'd like to see it given to matip next season , natural leader

give it to matip. he's a ****ing monster defender.

    I agree

henderson is a decent lad and all but you need 11 captains on the pitch not guys looking at each other.

for me matip is one and milner, lovern, can, firmino won't go missing. Coutinho is inclined to go off shooting on his own if things aint going well and i won't forget the deer in headlights look on lallana's face v seville. clyne and mane.. I dunno.

What I would say is the more guys who stand up and are counted the less an armband matters.

The good thing about henderson is he's a thorough hardworking example who doesn't get in any bother and thats a good thing for a captain.

We can all speculate from outside but it might be a load of the younger players look up to Hendo and he sets a great example in and around the training ground etc. As we've said many times you should have 3 or 4 captains in the team, organising and setting examples. Who actually wears the armband matters not so much other than flipping a coin.

He simply gives everything he has at all times, apparently first one in training every morning, last one to leave and has been a Liverpool player for 5 years.

I'm certain youngsters will look up to him and his team mates respect him. An absolute professional.

Doing just fine for me and openly admits he's still learning so not big headed either <ok>

Now he's stopped trying to take every corner and free kick as well.

I've heard the same about almost every PL player at some point! They must all walk in linking arms in the morning

I could think of one or two exceptions from Liverpool teams of recent seasons...
