Hi guys I just wanted to ask you about Henderson as I haven't heard him mentioned in the news in ages. At the start of the season he was being talked of as a future England regular, Manchester United were supposed to be about to make a £20 million bid and he was one of the best players at Sunderland, what happened?

He doesn't seem to have scored or assisted a goal in a while and is never mentioned in the news so i'm guessing he is in really poor form at the moment. Can anyone shed some light on the situation?

He should be rested, I think thats what they call it these days when they drop someone.

Truth is he is playing CM and he is best on the RW. He seems to have lost it since getting the 20mil value, never worth that. IMO Wilshire is showing how Hendo should be playing, important times ahead for the lad, he has the tallent, just needs to start showing it again.

He was massively overrated and this possibly went to his head and the rumours of man utds interest has potentially messed with his head.

If im honest i never saw that much in him, hes an average right side midfielder and a poor central midfielder. All he seems to do is run around a lot. as you say for a midfielder he doesnt score or assisst enough and he cant even tackle, or attempt to for that matter so for me he will never make it in the middle of the park.

I really hope he proves me wrong by the way but he has a long way to go to do that.

In trying to assess the quality of Henderson the term "merchant banker" springs to mind!!

i don't think he will ever become a natural central midfielder, but i think calling him an "average right side midfielder" is harsh, and incorrect. the lad has had some very good performances, and as should be expected from a young guy, been a bit inconsistent this season. £20m was always vastly inflated, but he is a quality player on his day, especially when played on the right. when we get cattermole back fit and firing, henderson will be playing right mid again, and hopefully we'll see a return to form. i think comparisons to wilshere are a bit unfair as well, he seems to be very competent in central midfield, looks like it's his natural place, and at this stage, looks like he will be a better all round footballer than henderson.

Complete and utter ****e, and totally useless. Needs to be rested as soon as possible, and hopefully sold in the next transfer window before he is truly found out.

People say the lads head was turned due to the ENG call up, Man Utd interest etc but, if you look at his overall game before and after it hasn't dropped per se, more of just stayed the same and people are beginning to realise what a waste of a shirt the lad is.

Ok thanks. I just wondered what was going on because he had completely disappeared from the map.

Not really played well since a couple of games after his England call-up. Although I will leave myself open for correction I don't scrutinise Sunderland games the same I do with ours!

no i think that's fair, could be any number of reasons behind it but truth is he's started to look more and more anonymous as time has gone by. he needs a rest, and we need someone with a bit more bite in the tackle playing centre mid. cattermole can't get fit quick enough imo.

I'm not a big fan of Henderson, I've seen him play very well, but recently he has been absolute rubbish!

I genuinely always thought he was massively overrated. He's alright like, but £20 million? England? No. IMO, he's like a younger, poorer Michael Carrick when he's in the middle, but he's a good RM. Sort of like David Bentley - good ball on him, and can drift to cause other problems.

For me the jury is out, like some of his stuff, but until we have a fit , full side, am going to sit on the fence.
