I know there is another post on the lad coming back but I wanted to not talk about if we should bring him back or not but what he could offer us in our side that seems to be getting quite a makeover in quality this summer. Now IMO Henderson does not have much to him game, well not £20m's worth but what he does have is great energy to get up and down that pitch. IMO if he does come back he needs to be best utilized and IMO thats in a similar role to what Ramires does at Chelsea. Both players can run all day and I hope Henderson watches video's of Ramires who maybe aint one of the best players in the world but IMO is a very good player who is certainly improving. I can see us going 4/2/3/1 this season with McClean, Sessegnon and Johnson all just behind Fletcher and if Henderson did come back he would go into the 2man central midfield. I personally think Henderson would be very good in that position with the players we have now if he is the box to box player who is full of energy and getting into the box at the right time to stick a few goals away exactly like the goal he scored for us at home to West Ham he would certainly be a very useful player for us. IF thats the Henderson we would see I would take him, if its the Henderson who just stands around, gets the ball and plays a sideways or backwards pass a couple of yards then I do not want him. For all the lads faults, he may not be the best technical player or have any skill but he does have that ability to run all day and he needs to use it to his advantage
With Johnson, Mclean, Sess and maybe Larsson, that midfield need a defensive midfielder. Colback or Catts. Catts or Colback, Colback or Catts. (Gardener, Vaughan to come in for injuries) It's never better the second time round. Been there, done that. No for me. But what a frigging midfield we now have. Happy days.
Henderson is a good player when used correctly but, if he did come back where do we play him and does he get straight back into the first eleven ahead of Seb? For me no let the lad carve out his career at Liverpool given time I think he will. Never go back to a club twice it rarely works out.
I think he could offer much more than Colback or Meyler imo alongside Cattermole. Colback and Meyler are just carbon copies of Catts whereas Henderson can motor a bit more and get forward AND play wide. Not saying he is a must buy or loan but he wouldnt be a bad move either.
