I'm sorry but he adds no value whatsoever. He just gets the ball and passes to the player next to him. Kuyt, Bellamy, maxi and even shelvey should start before him.

Yes I know he's young and has potential but I just don't see anything special from this lad. He's one for the future and should be on the bench.

Am I being harsh? If so please tell me what it is he brings to this team? Average pace, terrible shot, can't dribble, always nervous on the ball etc etc.

I disagree, he offers enough to the team to deserve a crack at it. The old guard can't go on forever, and he'll only learn his trade by playing in the top flight. You should have one player like that each season, making mistakes but learning, only way they get good. Can't bring players in from the reserves and asking them to hit the ground at 100% Next year I want to see Sterling making a mess of it. Remember Lucas, that's all I'll say!

I believe he's one for the future. Today was a big game, and you should play your proven big game players, i.e. Kuyt, Bellamy, and Maxi should all start in these games before Henderson. That said, I do believe he has outstanding potential to be a great player in his favourite position of CM, though I do think Shelvey could have offered us more here and now.

Blah, blah, blah, same **** was said about Lucas and Skrtel at one point, young players improve and peak at about 28. Simple.

Unless you're Michael Owen, then you peak at 18, and only good for the knackers yard at 28!

So basically what you are saying is that we need to wait for him to peak while we fail to win the league? You seem to be agreeing twith me that he's for the future.
Not all players will work out like Lucas and Skrtel.

He shouldn't be playing on the right flank. In central midfield you can at least see glimpses of what he can offer, and he may develop in to a good midfielder. I very much doubt that he will develop into a good right winger though, and he definately isn't our best option on the right flank either.

Well, I'm sorry about that, but I can't show the blind anything, try go looking at his opta stats and the numbers of completed passes and yards covered with the ball. Just like how Lucas' stats backed him up, long before many Liverpool fans could see the truth of his quality.

Assuming Liverpool beat Stoke in the FA Cup.

They semi final game in Wembly should be:

    Reina

    Johnson, Agger, Skrtel, Enrique

    Bellamy, Gerrard, Adam, Downing

    Carroll, Suarez

With regards the starting Henderson debate, if were wanting him to reach his potential at 28 then he has to be exposed to massive cup finals and winning now so that it's second nature to him by then... Look at (though I hate to admit it) Giggs and Scholes - winning things in big games young when they were often carried by the big names at the time so they got experience and have carried and saved manure many times through their experience since...

With regards the above post I'd start with today's line up (minus Agger who I think has a fractured rib) as I think Bellamy is a better sub than Henderson and surely better to bring his pace on when the oppositions tiring... Obviously exact line up will depend slightly on if andeho were playing in the semis... Let's not get ahead of ourselves Stoke at home might be a banana skin we need to carefully get past...

Henderson shouldn't start....if he's expected to provide width down the right. Clearly this isn't his position. He can't stretch a game, hasn't got the pace/trickery and has a tendency to drift inside too much to be useful and always looks poor when playing there. If he's playing in the middle, he can start all he likes. Good future ahead of him, in the middle.
