Chelsea have bid £22m for Modric, they must be insane and spurs have rightly rejected. If the very average Henderson cost £20m Spurs are crazy to consider anything less than £40m for the exceptional Modric. I think the Henderson deal will set the tone for all deals this summer as we'll see some hugely inflated fees being paid. Its a sellers market my friends and although initially good for us could sting come September 1st.

Modric is an awesome playmaker and deliverer of the ball...somethign Henderson is definately not. Going by Henderson's £20m...Modric is well worth £50m.

All I will say is the very average Jordan Henderson had 3 goal's and 5 assist's last season.
The awsome and exceptional (fashionable) Modric scored 3 and assisted 3.
Granted he played 5 games less than jordan, on the other hand he played in a more sucessful team.
Looking at it, is 22 mil really that bad?

No player is worth £20m. We talk about these figures as if they were pounds..

Henderson's fee will not set the tone of transfers in my opinion, we ll it may well do for the next few weeks but the closer the deadline gets then clubs/agents start to panic so deals are done for more reasonable amounts in the last few weeks.

I think it will set the benchmark for young English talent though, so Welbeck/Sturridge expect nothing to happen with these guys unless £16 million plus is offered.
