Needing yer help lads, well I'm needing someone to use their brain for me while I'm fuming my balls off. Got taken into a wee meeting there with my line manager and a senior manager. Got informed that my email account has now been suspended pending an investigation that will take around 24 hours. This is because someone from another service complained about mis-use. I know who it was and why they complained, because i was emailing a lassie a lot throughout the working day - Just some banter to help get through work. After my account has been investigated I will be asked questions and stuff based on the evidence etc and I get to say anything I want to basically. Anybody offer any help on what I should say?
That's a tricky one. Plus, I'm not sure if you're looking for sensible answers or not lol If it were me, I'd listen to what they had to say to you and not say an awful lot. Depending on what they did say, if you're in a union, go speak to your shop steward? Or even ask them to come into the meeting with you and do the talking for you? I believe you're entitled to take someone in to any meeting with you, as a kind of witness.
whats the policy on email use ?...Id bet its something along the lines of " reasonable personal use " ....which essentially means you showing that it didnt interfere with work.........ask them to define" reasonable" use or demonstrate an instance where they can show it interfered with work....they cant `cause everyone does it. or just tell them to **** off , and that your on the edge of walking the very EDGE.
its probably some one complaining about the millions of out of office replies you sent to everyone when you were off.
Cheers Tina, rl I'll keep that in mind. I am allowed to take someone with me. I hope it doesn't become that serious though.
Aye **** sake Muir. you'll get a chining and sent on your way. After a few weeks of getting para sending emails you go back and do the same thing again. I worked SL Council for 8 years and had the same done to me
on the other hand Muir , you could use this as an ideal opportunity for a not606 recruitment drive among your council bosses
Someone within the council dougie. I work in IT, they work in Environmental Service. I'm gonna make sure I hoor it hame in first gear tonight now
If its men you are accounting too just tell them you got a sniff you might have a chance - so the emails are a plpy to sleaze your way into her If its women - probably time to look for another job
