Looks as if the DW has cut up a bit due to rugby being played on it. Does that help or hinder us? Can imagine teams who keep the ball on the deck finding it difficult, but our more direct approach may not suffer as a result. At least Slade will have a reason for going route one! http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/wigan-v-cardiff-city-take-8699235
The John Smith's and Hillsborough were both bad and so was Blackpool beach, but it didn't help us much in the games there this season. If we can exploit the pitch conditions at Wigan to our advantage - mind you that means Slade having some tactical foresight - we could do OK but I doubt it. Although the Blackburn game and to some extent Huddersfield have been an improvement, I still think we're lacking some resilience for a 90 minute game. We really should beat Wigan no matter what the pitch conditions, but I've got an awful feeling that Malky is going to put one over on us.
Surely this is the game we've spent the previous 10 preparing for (not including the last 2) HOOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF........
Agree with Stevo....if hoofing the ball forward to a static, but big lump up top is our only tactic, then a mudbath would be ideal.
